Iovin Mazho was a Colonel in the Urdeshi Fourth Light Regiment, who took part in the Sabbat Worlds Crusade.[1a]

History

He was a native of Urdesh and had several children, with two of them being born after the Crusade began. In the later years of the Crusade, Mazho was seconded to the reincarnated Imperial Saint Sabbat's retinue, after the Saint and Warmaster Macaroth converged on the world. The Colonel would serve as Saint Sabbat's military attache to Macaroth's forces, as the Crusade began to reclaim Urdesh from the Sons of Sek. Mazho would continue to do so, even after Macaroth eventually turned Saint Sabbat into a figurehead for the Crusade. The Saint was then kept away in a secret location, but it was discovered by the Sons of Sek, who attempted to kill her. They were stopped by the Iron Snakes Chapter, before they reached the Saint, but the attack resulted in Imperials being killed. This quickly spurred Saint Sabbat into taking a more direct role in the battles against the Sons. Mazho and Saint Sabbat's tactical advisor, Captain Brey Auerben, both attempted to dissuade her from this. The Colonel reminded the Saint, that Macaroth's command group had made it clear they did not want her to take part in the fighting. The Saint complemented Mazho in disagreeing with her and speaking his mind, as she knew it was not easy to do for the Colonel. Saint Sabbat, however, remained firm in her decision and was committed to fighting once again.[1b]
