Ivandar was a member of House Lucaris who piloted the Knight Tyrant Death of Hope. He was killed during the War on Turris.[1]

Overview

Having survived since the Horus Heresy, Ivandar had his life prolonged through unknown means, possibly arcane technology or Chaos Sorcery to survive more than ten thousand years before being defeated by the Loyalist Knight Warden Heartsbane of House Cadmus. He had nursed a millenia-long grudge against House Cadmus, in particular Heartsbane and its pilots, following a humiliating defeat to it in a tourney and the house's refusal to join the forces of Horus. This grudge led him to disregard reason and safety whenever Heartsbane took the field, ignoring all else in favour of claiming vengeance, though he never succeeded despite multiple attempts. This blind obsession contributed to his eventual demise, when Heartsbane and others within it's Lance were able to lure him into a trap and kill him once and for all.[1]

Appearance and Personality

Initially described as 'powerfully built' and 'balding', after thousands of years of corruption. he instead resembled a mutated mess of flesh and machine, well and truly fused with his corrupted Throne Mechanicum, with his malice-filled eyes being described as one of the only human features he possessed.[1]

Prior to his ultimate corruption, he was quick to anger and hide-bound regarding tradition and tactics. By the end of his life he was utterly insane and filled with hatred and bloodlust, though he had also become more flexible and adopted strategies and armaments of his foes.[1]
