Kadus Brekkar was a Death Guard Centurion, who took part in the Horus Heresy.[1]

Biography

He was part of First Captain Calas Typhon's invasion of Perditus, to claim the treasures the Mechanicus had discoverd there. Brekkar was sent to claim the relics at the world's Umbral-51's archaeo-vaults, with a force of Tactical Legionaries, Grave Wardens, Contemptor Dreadnoughts and Mortus Poisoners. They were opposed, though, by the Iron Hands and later by the Dark Angels, who were led by their Primarch Lion El'Jonson. When the Dark Angels arrived, El'Jonson demanded the Iron Hands and Death Guard to stand down, as they too sought the Mechanicus' relics. However both Brekkar and his Iron Hands foes refused to stop fighting to gain access to Umbral-51's vaults. The Lion sent the Knight-Preceptor Vendrahel to claim what the vaults held, though, and his Dark Angels struck at Brekkar's. The Death Guard were overwhelmed, but further disaster struck, when Umbral's Tech-Priests unleashed their Imperial Robots, in order to destroy all of the invaders. This shattered Brekkar's forces and he was only able to escape further into Umbral's tunnels with squadrons of Mortus Poisoners. With any chance of successfully claiming the vaults' contents now gone, Brekkar instead sought to deny them to the Dark Angels by destroy them. Though their destruction would claim his life as well, Brekkar hoped to take many of the Dark Angels with him as well.[1]

As his forces raced to the vaults, Vendrahel's forces defeated the Imperial Robots and raced to the vaults as well. While Brekkar reached them first, he was unable to open the gates to the vaults, before the Dark Angels reached him. The two sides were then facing each other, when the Dark Angel Paladin Ennedreth stepped forward and challenged Brekkar to an honor duel. The Centurion laughed at this and instead used his Chem-flamer to reduce Ennedreth's body to ash. This enraged Vendrahel and the Knight-Preceptor led the charge against the Death Guard. As his Mortus Poisoners then clashed with the Dark Angels, Brekkar fought Vendrahel for possession of the vaults. In the end, though, the Centurion was killed by the Knight-Preceptor and Poisoners were destroyed as well. After the battle ended, Vendrahel knelt over Brekkar's body and whispered the names of the Dark Angels who had died.[1]
