The Medusa System is a star system of Imperial space[1a], located in the Ultima Segmentum.[2][Note 2]
Planets
The system is made up of the following planets:
- Medusa I[1a]
- Medusa II[1a]
- Medusa III[1a]
- Medusa IV — Dead World.[1a] Former Hive World.[1c]
- Medusa V — Destroyed.[1b][Note 1] Former Mining World/Industrial World.[1a]
- Medusa VI[1a]
- Medusa VII — Dead World/Xeno World[1a]
- Medusa VIII[1a]
- Medusa IX[1a]
- Medusa X[1a]
Other objects and phenomena
- Chigrin 1 — One of three Crimeon Class Space Docks in orbit above Medusa V. It has 2,922 Adeptus Mechanicus personnel and around 5,000 Imperial Navy security personnel. It has an armament of laser defence batteries and 16 torpedo tubes, and is defended by a Class 9 Void Shield. It is enhanced by the presence of a Philemon Pardox class enhanced auspex array, allowing detailed scans of a vast area of space.[1a]
Trivia
- The Medusa System was the setting of the 2006 global campaign, The Fall of Medusa V.
Notes
- Note 1: In The Fall of Medusa V (booklet), it is stated that 'The Warp storm will destroy the world, if the Emperor’s many enemies do not.' However, there is no clear evidence as to whether this world was destroyed or some other fate awaited it.[1b]
- Note 2: Though the location of the system is not directly stated anywhere, in the 8th edition Chaos Daemons codex the Warp Storm Van Grothe's Rapidity is located in the Ultima Segmentum, so it may be extrapolated that Medusa V and Medusa system are also located in this segmentum.[2]
