The Merit of the [[High Lords of Terra|High Lords]] is a very rare Medal that very few [[Guardsmen]] have. When it is awarded, it is only so to Senior Officers who have personally fought in and won many battles and have been noticed by the High Lords of Terra. It is dubbed the 'Double-edged Sword Merit' because the recipient is usually sent out to the most horrific and tactically disadvantaged battles possible after receiving the Merit by jelous superiors who try to disprove that the bearer deserved such a high honour.
