Miral (sometimes also known as Miral Prime)[3] was a death world located in the Ultima Segmentum.

It was covered predominantly in harsh jungles, though one other notable feature was the rocky mesa known as the Giant's Coffin.[1]

The local human population was composed mostly of savage troglodytes who lived on the rocky plateaus. Neophyte Hwygir of the Scythes of the Emperor claimed such heritage.[2]

The Second Tyrannic War

After the destruction of their home world Sotha, the Scythes of the Emperor became trapped on Miral and made their last stand against the Tyranids of Hive Fleet Kraken[2] in 993.M41.[5] Under the command of Chapter Master Thorcyra, they fortified the Giant's Coffin and defended it against the xenos invaders. However, they suffered catastrophic losses and the few survivors were forced to retreat and leave the planet to the victorious Tyranids.[2]

It is estimated that less than a single Company escaped from Miral.[4]
