Mont'au

Mont'au translates roughly into 'the terror'. It refers to the dark and violent time before the Ethereals arose in Tau society. They survived in this period because the Imperial ships sent to cleanse the world were destroyed by a massive, rapidly moving Warp Storm. Also, the rise and fall of Goge Vandire and the Age of Apostasy distracted the Imperium from their previous expansion projects and the Tau were forgotten.
