Despite attempts {{Fn|1b}} This led to an attempt by the [[Thousand Sons]] and [[Iron Warriors]] [[Space Marine Legion|Legion]]s, led by their respective [[Primarch]]'s respectively ([[Magnus|Magnus the Red]] and [[Perturabo]], respectively) to [[Evacuation of Morningstar|evacuate the world]].{{Fn|1b}} They were opposed by a [[cult]] known as the [[Sons of Shaitan]], who claimed that the populace's death and the destruction of the planet were part of some great plan.{{Fn|1b}} During the evacuation, Magnus charged [[Atharva]] to lead a team of legionaries beneath [[Zharrukin]], in order to uncover a secret Magnus had seen that lay beneath the city. Underneath the city, Atharva and the others found the original [[Terra]]n colony ship that carried the first settlers to Morningstar and opened it.{{Fn|1d}} However, they found themselves possessed by a gestalt psychic entity known as [[Shai-Tan]].{{Fn|1e}} Magnus himself led a rescue team to Zharrukin, defeating Shai-Tan and imprisoning it within the [[Book of Magnus]].{{Fn|1f}} Magnus and Perturabo were unsuccessful forced to enact [[Exterminatus]] on the planet and no native annihilate the evacuation fleet in order to prevent the corruption of Morningstar survivedShai-Tan spreading.{{Fn|11g}}
