Narvo Quin at the time of the Dropsite Massacre.[2]

Narvo Quin, the Pilgrim, is an Emperor's Children Chaos Space Marine who serves in the 12th Millennial, under the command of Savona.[1a]

Biography

He was originally born on Terra and during the Great Crusade, Quin was among the Emperor's Children that Fulgrim led to victory on Byzas.[1b] Within his legion, he was well known for his ambition and martial poweress.[2] However, Fabius Bile considered Quin to be a blunt object, who was a brutal tactician with little patience and less wisdom. This changed when the Horus Heresy;[1b] at this point, Quin held the rank of Veteran-Tesserarius in the 5th Company of the 7th Millennial's Battalion II. He distinguished himself during the Battle of Isstvan III, killing at least two dozen "notable" loyalists.[2]

Quin and his squad were deployed at the Kesh Rift Salient during the Dropsite Massacre. His force was overrun during a massive Iron Hand counter-attack, and Quin was torn apart by Gabriel Santar in personal combat.[1b][2] Loyalist records generally assumed that he had been killed.[2]

After the battle, Bile would find Quin's remains and, for reasons known only to himself, he brought Quin back to life. Quin was not thankful for this, however, but Bile later noted that following his rebirth Quin became more thoughtful and considered. Quin then spent time reforging himself and the Power Axe Fulgrim had gifted to him, as the war against the Imperium continued.[1b] When the Heresy ended, Fulgrim continued to lead the Emperor's Children for a time, until he abandoned them after Thessala to purse his own desires. Quin knew the Legion would splinter without the Daemon Primarch's leadership to bind them together and began a pilgrimage to find Fulgrim[1c]. Though he realized it was a foolish task, no other high ranking member of the Emperor's Children sought to try and as a Terran-born Legionary he felt he was worthy of succeeding.[1d] His journey eventually led him to Callax, where he arrived in time to save Fabius Bile's daughter Melusine, from being killed by a horde of Daemons. She had sought to prove worthy enough to convince Fulgrim to help her father, but it was Quin's interference that drew the Daemon Primarch out. With his journey finally at an end, Quin attempted to sway Fulgrim to retake control of the Emperor's Children, but the Daemon Primarch had no interest. After only mere moments of talking to Fulgrim, the Daemon Primarch used his powers to evict from and sent him casting away elsewhere[1c]. Afterwards the Emperor's Children splintered into Warbands, and Quin's began being sought after by Brothers who wanted to learn where Fulgrim secretly dwelled. He refused to tell them, however, and was forced to kill those who would not take no for an answer. After he lost count of the number of Emperor's Children he was forced to kill, Quin's sense of duty, and the full weight of what he had been forced to do, led him to seek refuge on an unnamed Daemon World.[1d]

He would remain there for sometime, and was believed to be dead, until Fabius Bile later learned of Quin's location and asked for his aid in finding Fulgrim. At that time, Bile was being hunted by the Coven of the Thirteen Scars and needed Fulgrim's help if he was to survive his war with the Haemonculi. Quin refused at first, but was suddenly visited by Melusine. Due to now being a creature of the Warp, she was able to appear to Quin while he was alone and convinced him to aid Bile. Quin relented and informed Bile he would lead the way to Fulgrim's location, without explaining why he had changed his mind[1b]. Once Bile met with the Daemon Primarch and secured his aid[1e], he convinced Quin to accompany him to his main base of operations on Belial IV. Once there, Bile learned the Coven was moving to invade the world and he met with the Chaos Lords Fulgrim had sent to aid him. Due to various reasons, however, they were reluctant to do so, until Quin intervened on Bile's behalf. His threatening words, stating that Fulgrim and Slaanesh would view those that did not help as cowards[1f], led the Chaos Lords to agree to help Bile. After the meeting, Quin decided to leave Belial IV but was convinced to stay by Savona, the current commander of the 12th Millennial. He became intrequied by her, as she was a non-Chaos Space Marine leading a Warband, and wanted to see how she would fare in the coming battle[1d]. When the Coven of the Thirteen Scar finally invaded Belial IV. Savona and Quin fought side by side, against the unending hordes of the Haemonculi's creatures. Eventually, like they had known it would, the battle turned against Bile's forces and Savona gave the order for the 12th Millennial to escape. She asked Quin what he planned on doing and he replied that he was tired of hiding. Quin then said he sought something new and joined the 12th Millennial, as they evacuated from Belial IV.[1a]
