The Necrons are the skeletal, robotic legions of the C'tan. The Necrons were once known as the Necrontyr, but upon shedding their mortal coils, the Necrontyr were no more. Most, if not all, Necrons spend most of their time simply serving their masters to the letter of their commands, almost literally unthinking in their devotion and hatred of living beings. The Necrons most often encountered by other races are warrior machines: the serpentine Wraiths, the phalanx-like Necron Warriors and Necron Immortals, the ancient Necron Lords, the potent Necron Destroyers, and the horrific Flayed Ones. Other warrior machines found within the armies of the C'tan include the inhuman Pariahs, the scuttling Scarabs, and the monstrous Tomb Spyders. Necrons serving purposes other than purely warrior roles have not as yet been observed.
