Overview
The Orders Hospitaller dates back to the time of the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy, but during this time it included men.[9] The Orders Hospitaller provide surgeons, physicians and nurses to areas which require them, including both military operations and civilian areas.[1] The members of this order have been called on by the Inquisition for support in battle with both healing and, more rarely, torture.[2]
The Orders Hospitaller maintain a strict code of non-violence, and will only heal on the battlefield. This separates them from the similar order of Rejuvenat Adepts.[6] (See Template:CanonConflict)
Organization
The Orders Hospitaller is overseen by the Chirurgeon-General[9] and is divided into two main bodies:
- The Orders Hospitaller of the Convent Sanctorum
- Order of the Eternal Candle
- Order of Serenity[7]: Wears white robes and operates black, unmarked Chimeras.
- The Orders Hospitaller of the Convent Prioris
Known Sisters Hospitallers
Canon Conflict
All other depictions of Hospitallers paint them as being perfectly willing to crush the enemies of mankind, both heretics, mutants, and aliens; in the same manner, they are also depicted as operating convents and dispensaries outside of warzones.[8]
