History
The Rift Stalkers were among the Chapters created during the Ultima Founding at the direct order of Roboute Guilliman.[1] Consisting entirely of Martian Primaris, this Chapter was founded at the start of the Indomitus Crusade rather than being created from the Greyshields.[6a]
A Fleet Based Chapter, the Rift Stalkers are tasked to patrol the Great Rift. They diligently seek a method of reconnecting with hundreds of thousands of worlds cut off to the Galactic north.[2]
The Rift Stalkers were one of the Chapters to respond to the Castellans of the Rift's psychic call for aid to defend the Nachmund Gauntlet, joining the other responding Chapters in forming the Wardens of the Gauntlet. The Rift Stalkers task in this warzone is seeking out new routes through the region, striking swiftly against Chaos armies blocking warp channels, and launching boarding assaults against enemy ships.[5a]
Culture and Combat Doctrine
The Rift Stalker's Apothecaries are often operating in enemy territory and far from Imperial lines, they have little access to standard resources, and as such are expert improvisers.[7]
