Slyte

Slyte is a powerful daemon, described as a "Daemonicus Arcana Majoris," which threatened destruction of the entire Imperium before being banished by Gideon Ravenor.[1] It is unknown which of the Gods of Chaos Slyte is connect with, although its association with decay would suggest Nurgle.[2]

History

While Ravenor and his team were investigating flects, his Interrogator Carl Thonius became addicted.[3] One flect that Thonius used happened to contain Slyte, which immediately possessed him.[2a] Thonius managed to suppress Slyte for the time being, but Slyte began to manifest when Thonius was in extreme danger to save his life.[2b] Attempting to foil Zygmunt Molotch's schemes, Thonius was nearly killed and Slyte manifested. Slyte killed Jader Trice, badly wounded Molotch, and destroyed their tome of Enuncia. However, Kara Swole witnessed the transformation and was horrified.[2c] Still in control, but being subtly manipulated by the daemon, Thonius healed Kara Swole's terminal cancer but convinced her not to tell Ravenor about Slyte.[2d]

Ultimately, Thonius's mind was consumed and Slyte unleashed. Ravenor was only able to banish the daemon by allying with his mortal enemy Molotch and using an improvised Chaos ritual.[1a]

Abilities

Slyte initially manifested in Thonius's body. It could cause people or objects it touched to rapidly rot and decay. Slyte was also near-immune to Enuncia.[2c] It also had powerful healing abilities.[2d]

When it fully manifested, Slyte was a mountain-sized pillar of rotten tentacles tipped with fingers or mouths. Anything it touched rotted away.[1b]
