Template:Anthology Tales of Heresy, edited by Nick Kyme and Lindsey Priestley, is the tenth book in the Horus Heresy Series and is a collection of seven short stories, written by some of the series' authors. The book was published on March 14th 2009.

Blood Games

Synopsis
Set on Terra following the start of the Horus Heresy, the story chronicles Amon Tauromachian (An Adeptus Custodian) who is charged with protecting the Emperor while the world around him begins the process of fortification in the hope of defeating the rebels. Amon is tasked with taking part in the 'Blood Game', a task all Custodians endure and one which sets them against the Imperial Palace in the hope of guarding the Emperor through the exposure of flaws in his protection. Following his success Amon Tauromachian and a fellow Custodian Haedo Emankon are are sent on a dangerous mission by Constantin Valdor to gather incriminating evidence on a member of the Unity government, suspected of treason. But all is not as it seems.

Wolf at the Door

Synopsis
A band of Space Wolves belonging to the 13th Great Company, which is traveling with the 954th Expeditionary Fleet, rediscover a planet which was previously hidden by Warp Storms. It is inhabited by humans, and is therefore to be brought into the fold of the Imperium. However, the planet is regularly raided by what the locals call "Harrowers" (Dark Eldar, Kabal of the Shrieking Heart). The Space Wolves battle to expel the raiders from the planet, but the end result is both unwanted and unexpected.

Scions of the Storm
Synopsis
The Word Bearers have encountered a planet they designate Forty-seven Sixteen, which is populated by humans who appear to worship an idol. The world is ordered to be cleansed, for idolatry can not be tolerated. Sor Talgron battles through artificial intelligence-guided machines to the leaders of the people of Forty-seven Sixteen, only to discover that they worship the Emperor as a God, and that they want to join the Imperium. Sometimes, however, sacrifice is necessary.

- The Battle of 47-16, about a month after Lorgar had returned from seeing the Emperor (see conjecture section below).

Conjecture
According to Erebus, the Emperor rebuked Lorgar for the slow pace of his conquests in the Great Crusade. This also fits into the time frame where Lorgar was rebuked for deifying the Emperor.
