I'm pretty sure the Deffkopta shown in 4e here is pre-3e. It's definately the one in Codex: Armageddon, so I'm moving it back to 3e - but it may be from Gorkamorka or similar. --Alph4rius (talk) 11:17, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

Hello, please sign your talk page contributions with --~~~~ which will automatically be transformed into your timestamped signature. Apart from that I have to point out that no content changes (typos, grammar corrections excluded) can be made without providing and including proper footnotes. Moving around an unsourced item from one location to another is pointless, thanks. --11:03, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
I can source that it's at least _more_ accurate, but Armageddon doesn't show it was first then, just that it was by then. A citation felt like it was overstating the accuracy of my change? --Alph4rius (talk) 11:17, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
A "by then" source is galaxies better than an unsourced item someplace else. Especially with miniatures sometimes we have no choice as to move them back step by step as older sources turn up... Some of GW's minis have been on sale for two or more decades, making it quite difficult to pinpoint them exactly with the first shot. Just generally everywhere here the rule is: no change (except typos or grammar) without a source. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 11:22, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
On a related but speculative note I would not be surprised if the Deffkopta actually flew over from Gorkamorka. I can also 99,9% exlude this model is pre-3rd ed as I think I know all 2nd ed Ork models. So a 3rd ed source will probably be the final word anyway. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 11:27, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
Cool, well when I get the time, I'll go and grab my old books, and source what I can. Is there a way to source something as a provisional/partial source (as in a "by then" source)? Also, what's the go if I have a different image of the deffkopta there, but no way to upload pictures at any worthwhile quality? On a side: Gorkamorka's release was at the tail end of of 2e, and the entire GorkaMorka style fits between 2e orks and the 3e updated ork line - so I was calling GorkaMorka releases "pre 3e". It's a GorkaMorka or a 3e release anyhow - that much can be told from the style. --Alph4rius (talk)
Every meaningful contribution is welcome. If you mean provisional dating for a mini I would recommend typing "</=" in the "release date" field in the template as done here. These individual articles are anyway at some point going to become the standard format.
If you have a similar but not identical image of what you think is the same model (sometimes there are actually hard to spot differences) you can on no account connect it to a source that does not precisely show the same image. If you do not have a possibility to upload yourself the (presumably) best option would be to put up a note on the Talk page where precisely the image you would need can be found and do the rest of the preparatory work. After all a wiki is a collaborative effort.
@Gorkamorka: indeed.
