As with the other miniature pages - the chronology of the minis is simply not correct here. Tycho is listed twice - Im assume were are meant to be listing minis by when they were released, not by when they were (re)painted. Sammael was released a decade after Azrael. "3rd edition" minis listed as Dark Angels, Dark Angels Captain, Space Wolves 13th Company Rune Priest, 13th Company Marine are not of this era - in fact, I'm not going to list all the mistakes there are so many. I've posted similar comments on other pages aswell. I appreciate the pages are marked as WIP, but the amount of mistakes here is really worrying. The Lemur 01:54, 25 July 2012 (CEST)

I had a lot of trouble categorizing them and mainly went by what I could find in the rulebooks and sources/names in the pic titles themselves. Any help would be appreciated.--Harriticus 02:04, 25 July 2012 (CEST)
The problem with that is a mini that was created in 1990 might still have a pic published in a book in 2012 - it doesnt make it a 6th edition mini.
Firstly - we need to have a think about how these pages are going to be laid out, is it really sensible to try and list every SM mini that has been released over 25/30 years on one page? No. So i'd sugest a seperate page for all the individual chapters that have had specific miniatures released eg. "Miniatures (Blood Angels)" etc.
Also - if you dont know where things should be placed - better to ask for other users' opinions, otherwise the page will just get deleted for being full of mistakes and all your efforts will be wasted. I'm happy to help out a bit, but I dont have enough free time to restructure articles on every miniature GW have released over 3 decades! The Lemur 02:28, 25 July 2012 (CEST)
The individual Chapters ideas sounds good, specifically for Blood Angels/Space Wolves/Black Templars/Dark Angels anyway. I tried my best to restore the rather dead/completely inadequate Miniatures Portal and had limited resources to tell what is what edition. --Harriticus 03:24, 25 July 2012 (CEST)
Yeah, the whole miniature catalogue thing is quite complicated. Never got around to make my mind up on how to tackle it best. Maybe we should go away from the editions and go to years? Year of first publication that is? --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 14:45, 25 July 2012 (CEST)

I dont mind doing a bit of restructuring of the pages - changing the order of the pics etc, but I don't really have the time to create brand new pages atm. I'd think we'd need a bit more order to the sections as well - not just all the 1st edition minis lumped together randomly, but arranged by type; all the 1st ed vehicles in one bit, special characters in enother etc. Also, if we have seperate chapter pages - Blood Angels for example - do we limit those to specific Blood Angels miniatures (like death company or sanguinary guard models etc.) or do we have standard marine models painted in BA livery aswell?

Painting has nothing to do with models. There are chapter-specific and vanila marines, point. For arranging I once made this. But nowadays I'd definitely split out the specific chapters to their own pages. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 22:52, 26 July 2012 (CEST)
Specific pages for chapters that have a range of unique miniatures (Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Dark Angels, Black Templars) sounds good, but the issue with what model fits what edition is still problematic. It becomes exceedingly difficult to tell in 3rd, 4th, and 5th editions.--Harriticus 23:15, 26 July 2012 (CEST)
Yes, we may have to move away from editions to years. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 23:19, 26 July 2012 (CEST)
@ Inq S -That's exactly the type of layout I was thinking of! I just posted on the forum on this again - should we contiue the convo there rather than duplicating the chat in 2 places? The Lemur 23:21, 26 July 2012 (CEST)

Distinction between paint schemes and miniatures

I must stress that a very clear distinction must be made between generic miniatures that were painted in a chapter specific paint scheme and actual chapter specific miniatures. The captions especially for the 1st ed minis must be adapted accordingly (example "Salamanders"). --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 18:59, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
