I have removed the emperor of mankind on this list, at least because he is not stated to being a perpetual in "Vulkan Lives". The quote I am sure people are misreading, is in reference to vulkan, not the emperor.

the quote

‘Yes, of course. You perpetuals are all different, and not all human in the strictest sense either.’ ‘You are referring to the Emperor?’ ‘You met him once, didn’t you?’ ‘Yes, briefly.’ Grammaticus did not know who this being was, but whatever his other claims, he was certainly powerful to be able to contact him in this way and knew a great deal of the greater stakes at play in the war. Long ago, during the Unification Wars when he had been part of the Caucasian Levies, Grammaticus had learned to be wary of those who possessed more knowledge than himself. When in such circumstances, he found it best to say little and listen intently. The eldar went on. ‘Many years ago, wasn’t it? Several lifetimes, in fact.’ Grammaticus nodded. ‘No,’ said the eldar flatly. ‘I do not mean him, I refer to Vulkan. He also cannot die as such, but you already knew that, didn’t you? As you and I speak, he is in terrible danger. I need your help to save him, if you are willing?

the statement "He also cannot die as such, but you already knew that, didn't you?" is referring to vulkan, as this is a perpetual telling another perpetual that vulkan is a perpetual. It does not include the emperor, as he is already dismissed in this statement.

  • Tons of other books say the Emperor is a perpetual
    • From Know No Fear "John Grammaticus sits back and smiles, pointing a finger at Oll. ‘No, you’re bloody not. I’m only what I am now thanks to xenos intervention. You, you’re still a true Perpetual. You’re still like him.’" (Him obviously being the Emperor)
    • From Legion (Novel) "‘You have a fine mind, John,’ he had said, without having to ask Grammaticus his name. ‘We should talk, and consider the options available to beings like us.’"
    • From Mark of Calth "It was summer, a meadow beyond the walls of Nineveh. He had never met another Perpetual before. He would never meet another like Him." (referring to Ollanius Pius meeting the Emperor for the first time)
    • It's conclusive he is, so I'm changing it back. Harriticus (talk) 22:54, 25 September 2018 (MDT)
      • That's fine, I only removed it once because it was referencing a quote which it did not apply, you have applied quotes and sources for said quotes. ArcherPrime
