Sigismund wasn't the first Emperor's Champion of the Black Templars. True, he was the first to be chosen as an Emperor's Champion but that was as an Imperial Fist. When the Black Templars were formed, he was the first High Marshal. Emperor's Champions are designated before each battle, and are not given permanent positions.

Do we have citation yet?

I know some see me as a stickler or one who'd be agitating the interpretation of lore for a few folks, but I mostly prod into these things because I like accurate citations and sourcing. So far I've not found a direct source for the statement:

"Rogal Dorn chose Sigismund as the Emperor's Champion, and gave him the best armour and weapons available. He went forward to challenge the traitorous leaders to single combat, and triumphed over all he met in battle.".

Does anyone have any source yet?
