Tau Fleet Equipment is a description of the various weapons and items of equipment used by the Tau on their space fleet.

Weapons

Railgun Batteries

Railgun Batteries are large versions of standard Railguns used by Broadside Battlesuits. They require vast amounts of power to fire despite impressive refinement of the superconductors used. This makes reloading an issue so only one barrel is ever powered at one time, allowing other barrels to reload before they are charged to fire again.

Ion Cannons

Ion Cannons vaporise what they come into contact with, no matter whether it is armoured or flesh. This makes them a devastating weapon.

Gravitic Launchers

Gravitic Launchers are even larger railguns and consist of a two stage launch system. First, mass drivers provide the initial burst of speed to launch the missile before the ship's gravitational field is pulsed to force the missile out at a tremendous speed. The missiles are drone controlled, giving them exceptional directional control making them highly dangerous weapons.

Equipment

Gravitic Hooks

Gravitic Hooks are arms reaching from the bottom of the ship which create a gravitic sheath around smaller ships, allowing them to be transported close to the hull of the mother ship. This means they do not need built in warp drives to allow them to move from zone to zone.

Shields

Tau Shields are based on the gravitic sheath around the ship. It can be reformed to deflect incoming fire.

Deflector

Deflectors are special versions of the gravitic sheaths often fitted to the front of Tau vessels. The gravitic sheath is turned into a dense wedge which is far more effective at repelling incoming ordnance.

Tracking Systems

Tau Tracking Systems are located on Skether'qan Class Escorts (Messengers) and are incredibly powerful. They can also be linked in with other ships' computers, allowing them to provide additional data for weapons batteries and turrets. This makes it more likely that nearby Tau ships will hit with their weapons.
