Where do you see using this template, OOC?--Proteus77 21:02, 19 March 2012 (CET)

Well, sometimes when rewriting background I find there's a section that you can't rewrite, either because you'd lose too much of the meaning, or it's got a lively non-encyclopaedic (sometimes funny) tone... and I think these passages are often better quoted directly than trying to rehash them.
There are also actual quotes spoken by characters which can give an insight into them in a way that dry description can't, and sometimes a really well written passage can illustrate a subject even better than a picture (or can serve where none is available). I mentioned it in the forum and since no one's objected yet I've already used it a couple of times. --IXS=][= 00:10, 20 March 2012 (CET)
Quotes on other pages have generally been presented like they are on these pages - Hieronomus Tezla , Space Marine Captain. I prefer that layout myself - it makes it clearer (to me anyway) that it is a quote. The Lemur 00:30, 20 March 2012 (CET)

Colours

I removed the hard-coded colours from the template. I find the default colour scheme literally nauseating, so I switched to the Vector skin, but that doesn't help with templates with hard-coded colours.

The result is that the border, text and background colours are all inherited from context: black on white for MonoBook / Vector, black on grey for Lexicanum, but the same grey as the main body. If the altered colour is really desirable, it needs to be specified in the skin's style sheets, so that the user can override them (say, by choosing a different skin).
