The Fury is a Blood Angels short story by James Swallow. It was published online on September 15, 2013.

Black Library Description

"The Black Rage lurks at the heart of every Blood Angel, a dread fury beneath their civilised surface. In the midst of battle, one of Sanguinius's sons teeters on the edge of oblivion, a heartbeat from damnation in the grip of his Chapter's curse. Will he fall into that blood-soaked abyss or retain his humanity?" [1]

Overview

The Fury is a visceral account of an unidentified Brother of the Blood Angels Chapter who, whilst purging Chaos cultists on an unknown world, must fight an internal battle to deny the urges of the Flaw.[2]

Summary

With Bolter and Power Sword, an unknown Blood Angel purges Chaos Cultists on an unidentified world. Recognising a lone Brother in the grips of the Flaw as Celcinan of 3rd Company, the protagonist marvels at his brother's rage, until Celcinan is slain.[2a] Now infuriated, the Space Marine discards his bolter and charges the cultists, embracing the Red Thirst momentarily.[2b] Whilst not consumed by it today, his internal battle goes on.
