Overview

Typhon Primaris was world dominated by jungles and swamps. Even before becoming infested by Orks and Tyranids, its harsh envionment was adverse to humans.[2a]

History

Typhon Primaris was settled by humans during the Dark Age of Technology. At the time of the Fall of the Eldar, a fatally damaged Aeldari Craftworld crashed on the planet; it eventually became buried under the earth and vegetation. Meanwhile, the human population technologically regressed to a state comparable to the Bronze Age, while Orks arrived to battle the humans. A small number of Aeldari Exodites also settled on the world, unknowingly attracted to the dead Craftworld.[2a]

Typhon Primaris eventually became recruitment world of the Blood Ravens, but this practice ended at some point in M41, when the Orks of Typhon Primaris united long enough to wipe out the native humans.[2a] Eventually, however, the Imperium began to resettle the planet. By the time of the First Aurelian Crusade, barely 30,000 humans lived scattered across the world, living in scientific stations, resource extraction sites and military bases. Despite their small number, their population was able to sustain itself, and the Blood Ravens once again began to draw aspirants from Typhon Primaris. However, Orks remained the predominant force on the world, with most of them being loyal to Warlord Grakka da Skurj of the Evil Sunz at the time. Some Techpriests also arrived, intent on researching the local ruins dating to the Dark Age of Technology.[2a]

Tyranids invaded Typhon Primaris during the First Aurelian Crusade. The Blood Ravens were able to blunt the attack and prevent it from being consumed,[3] but scattered Tyranid forces remained on the world.[2a] In the ten years after the failed Tyranid invasion, the Imperium deployed Imperial Guard Regiments to secure the Typhon Primaris, but their campaigns ultimately bogged down. Frustrated at the failure of the Imperial high command to support them, one Imperial Guard Regiment - the 39th Cadian - even turned traitor.[2b]

Despite the attempts by Aeldari from Craftworld Alaitoc to save Typhon Primaris due to the Craftworld buried there, the planet was subjected to Exterminatus by the Ordo Malleus as a result of the Xenos and daemonic incursions in the subsector during the Third Aurelian Crusade. The buried Craftworld's Infinity Circuit and soul stones were destroyed along with every living being on the planet.[2]
