The Tyranid Prime is a highly evolved Tyranid Warrior considered to be the apex of the Tyranid Warrior strain.1
Overview
Tyranid Primes are highly intelligent, more so than their common counterparts. When they lead a brood of Tyranid Warriors, the brood acts as one entity using tactics and precision that that military commanders find hard to match.1 When in the prescence of more powerful Tyranid creatures like a Hive Tyrant a Tyranid Prime will defer synaptic control to it, but when alone a Prime is easily capable of turning a group of Tyranid creatures into an effective fighting force.2 It has only been recently that Tyranid Primes have been recognized as a seperate species from regular Warrior, though this is probably due to them blending in with the rest of the brood.2
