Welcome to Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum! We hope you will contribute much and well. You will probably want to read the [Lexicanum:Help help pages]. Again, welcome and have fun! Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 03:29, 30 May 2018 (MDT)

Sources

Please add Sources to all of your uploaded pics! Otherways they cann't be counted as canon. And don't add new without sourcing properly!--Darkelf77 (talk) 04:37, 5 August 2018 (MDT)

Summary and Category

Please try to add Summary and Categories to your pictures yourself. I cann't do it always instead of you. Required things of every picture: Source, Summary, Copyright, Category--Darkelf77 (talk)

Also, you don't need to make three separate edits to set the source, summary, and copyright. You can use the edit tab at the top. Bobmath (talk) 12:53, 25 November 2018 (MST)

Stop reverting the rightly done changes to your articles! 'Iron Fist' are the Chaos Space Marines, not the loyal one Chapter that mentioned in the 'Wotan' and 'Pala Greut' ‎articles.--Darkelf77 (talk) 15:04, 26 October 2018 (MDT)

Sources II

Please note that sources should always include a pagenumber (see File:CarcharodonDreadnought.jpeg). Reason: if a source has to be checked it is a pain in the behind to have to flip through a whole book, especially if it is picture-heavy. Thanks. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 13:59, 27 December 2018 (MST)

Hunda Skorvall

"He was amongst the elite of the Reaper of Men’s army, and he was granted the mark of the skull and sun to show his rank and standing. The sigil was tattooed upon the thick, pale muscle of his bicep. The glaring skull signified the shadow of death that both loomed over the soldiers and marched as their ally, while the six-pointed star was said to represent the light of the new dawn freedom would bring to Barbarus. His right arm ended in a stump hidden behind greasy bloodstained bandages. He lose it fighting against a dozen kill-beasts. One of them had bitten off his hand and swallowed it, but he had still managed to rip out the monster’s throat and drown it in its own blood. He later had a augmetic hand made for him" Is that a 1:1 copy from somewhere? --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 11:23, 8 March 2019 (MST)

You have to work on the style. Always remember: This is an encyclopedia, so the language should not be "poetic" but down to earth facts. For example "Reaper of Men" - I suppose that is Mortarion, so write Mortarion. The whole waffling about his honour mark has to be compacted. And it should go in a separate section like "Physical appearance". Something like (I don't have the original text in front of me, so I'll guess): "Skorvall had a skull and sun tattooed onto his biceps (spelling!) representing the shadow of death both looming over the soldiers and being their ally and the six-pointed star standing for the new dawn freedom would bring to Barbarus (when? why? from who?). Skorvall lost his right hand battling a dozen kill-beasts (again: when?) but had it later replaced by an augmentic one." Generally speaking I assume but have to guess that these events happened during the liberation of Barbarus, but this is not at all clear from the way you wrote it. You put it right after "[...] Mortarion as he took the Death Guard into the Great Crusade." so logically that is where the reader is mentally at this part of the text... So heads up, things should be done by the book, you can do it :) --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 14:47, 8 March 2019 (MST)

Category

PLEASE add Category to your uploaded picture http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/File:Ujioj.png There would be no more warnings!--Darkelf77 (talk) 13:28, 22 March 2019 (MDT)

Issue summary

Image resolution

The images you upload are often too big because they have a very high resolution. Please resize them to what is required, there are a lot of freely available programs for that, thanks. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 06:41, 14 April 2019 (MDT)

Image sources

The source for an image should also be included in the article itself, even if in the past this was not followed-up properly. Also please do note that images without a source (in the file details) will be removed to avoid fan-made images sneaking in. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 06:41, 14 April 2019 (MDT)

PNG images

PNG should be avoided as an image format because JP(E)G gives you the same resolution at ~ one third of the file size. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 06:41, 14 April 2019 (MDT)

Language

Sorry, but your language skills are often insufficient. See for example here, here... --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 06:41, 14 April 2019 (MDT)

Text structure

Your text structuring and putting events into the correct temporal and geographical order needs to be improved here: Talk:Anatolus Gdolkin. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 06:41, 14 April 2019 (MDT)

Style

Example: your style has to become much less prose and much more matter of fact. Always remember: this is an encylopedia, if the reader wants to know every last detail he is supposed to pick up the original source. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 06:41, 14 April 2019 (MDT)

Verbatim copies

You are not allowed to make verbatim copies of source texts in the length that you did for example in Ulrach Branthan. There you did a 1:1 copy of almost a complete five line paragraph from the novel. No wonder some of your texts sound like prose (see above under "style"). Verbatim copies are only allowed in a limited form as quotes.--Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 10:29, 14 April 2019 (MDT)

Also found unacceptably long verbatim copy of original source text in Iron_Hands#Possible_Tech-Heresy. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 22:45, 14 April 2019 (MDT)

Multiple accounts

If you have been (temporarily for now) banned you are not allowed to just make a new account to bypass that measure, jeez... Account request rejected. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 22:45, 14 April 2019 (MDT)
