WayBackMachine

About your last articles... Old archives full of treasures, yes? ;)--Darkelf77 (talk) 14:25, 23 January 2016 (MST)

Yeah, but its too bad the only way to read them is through the waybackmachine

  • I agree. And also a lot of materials from the GW-cite through 2009-2013 years - lost, because of some "cookies system" (at least I don't know how to beat it). Even the WayBack can't help. Pity :( --Darkelf77 (talk) 14:42, 23 January 2016 (MST)

Battle Reports

I haven't seen the articles in question, but citing White Dwarf Battle Reports to create pages like Deathtoll seems off. Games Workshop has naming conventions and that name does not fit, and the Battle Reports are normally just playful accounts of battles between players with no canonical basis. Midnight Sun (talk) 18:10, 11 March 2016 (MST)

I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying you don't personally consider the White Dwarf Battle Reports to be Canon and they shouldn't be included in the Lexicanum? Or you don't think the name Deathtoll feels like it would belong to a member of the Thousand Sons? --Dram (talk) 09:23, 12 March 2016 (MST)

It feels like the name suggests that it was a user battle report and not something official. Midnight Sun (talk) 21:36, 12 March 2016 (MST)

It was a Battle Report between Adam Troke's Dark Angels and Andy Keddie's Chaos forces. I think both of them are currently working for Games Workshop--Dram (talk) 22:02, 12 March 2016 (MST)

Battle reports or personal armies from GW employees aren't canon, and so are characters or results from them. We collect those informations though, but they should have a special template to mark them as such (yeah I know, the template doesn't exist; should have been on our to-do list).--Gene, Magus (talk) 20:00, 14 August 2017 (MDT)

Excavating of Treasures

Wonderful finding and work with a 'Vigos'. You are a great explorer. I'm very appreciated :) And yes, I believe (just like you) - it is also a canon background.--Darkelf77 (talk) 02:03, 29 June 2016 (MDT)

Black Legion

Just as a request, can you please add the events of Black Legion (Novel) to the Sigismund and 1st Black Crusade articles where they appear? I havent' finished the book yet and won't for quite some time due to my schedule. You already seem to have finished it. Thanks! --Harriticus (talk) 13:47, 21 August 2017 (MDT)

Sure--Dram (talk) 09:17, 22 August 2017 (MDT)

Black Legion

Nice additions you made on Sigismund's Fate part. As soon as finished Black Legion (Novel) , I went on the Sigismund page and saw nobody added what we learned in the novel. So I started to modify it. But, you added a lot more of what I had planned and did better (I'm not a native english speaker). Thanks! --KuBi4K (talk) 19:34, 28 August 2017

--Dram (talk) 09:59, 29 August 2017 (MDT) No problem

Diocletian Exemplar

I figured the character of Diocletian Exemplar was actually Diocletian Coros. He's featured in the same book IRL that he wrote in-universe as a bit of an easter egg, and it's clear that Diocletian became big later on in the Custodes. "Exemplar" being a kind of honorific as opposed to one of his names. Maybe I'm wrong though.--Harriticus (talk) 22:46, 22 October 2017 (MDT)

You're probably right. I'll redirect the page.--Dram (talk) 22:49, 22 October 2017 (MDT)

Daemons and Characters of Kill Team: Rogue Trader

Where did you get information about daemons and characters of this new Rogue Trader box? On the GW site (that you show as a source) I cann't found such information.--Darkelf77 (talk) 13:02, 11 September 2018 (MDT)

Sorry for the late reply, but Harriticus has updated them with info from their Codices.Dram (talk) 00:27, 20 September 2018 (MDT)

I see now that this information confirmed in the Codexes. But before it - the information, for example, that Vulgrar Thrice-Cursed was a crew-member of the Elucia Vhane's New Dawn vessel, looked like a speculation. Now with the source as a Codex, all information about this matter is ok.---Darkelf77 (talk) 09:14, 20 September 2018 (MDT)

Thanks

Hey, thanks for your help with the Kingsblade/Knightsblade-related articles. KazilDarkeye (talk) 16:04, 26 February 2019 (MST)

No problem. Dram (talk) 22:15, 27 February 2019 (MST)

Nore Hackflesh/ CSM Combat Cards

You own/ have access to the card set? --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 13:49, 19 March 2019 (MDT)

No, I just found the pictures by doing a google image search. I did find this link on ebay though, which I think shows most of the Dark Eldar card set. Dram (talk) 14:57, 19 March 2019 (MDT)

I also did a google image search on the CSM but yours somehow didn't come up ^^ Anyway, I looted them as best as I could :D The Dark Eldar from eBay I had found, they are sitting in a folder on my desktop for processing :) --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 15:08, 19 March 2019 (MDT)

External links as sources

I think the convention is that one should add the date the link was accessed. Don't ask me why, I did not invent it. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 15:28, 23 April 2019 (MDT)

I think this is to know whether the source link is old or recent.--Darkelf77 (talk) 23:57, 23 April 2019 (MDT)
Plus it helps when looking for disappeared pages in the internet archive to know what timeframe the source should be in. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 03:03, 24 April 2019 (MDT)

About Guilds of Necromunda

You most certainly means the book Necromunda: The Book of Peril when creating your last articles about Guilds of Necromunda, with the pages etc, yes? Because you state a source as a Games-Workshop site, but there is no such information about Necromunda Guilds... I created the article about book, if you need it for sourcing.--Darkelf77 (talk) 12:23, 26 May 2019 (MDT)

The info for the Merchants Guild is on one of the page previews on the The Book of Peril's website. Here's a direct link to the page [1](last accessed 26 May 2019). Dram (talk) 12:38, 26 May 2019 (MDT)

Aaaaah! Now I see. I though you somewhow got the book itself and already working with it. Well, now I will change back, but - with some addition. Let me now if you agree or not.--Darkelf77 (talk) 12:46, 26 May 2019 (MDT)
Here. Is it all right? https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Air_Guild I may edit all other myself if needed. Also we may leave it with the link to the book's article, because I think page numbers will be the same as on the samples on site.--Darkelf77 (talk) 12:48, 26 May 2019 (MDT)
That looks good, thanks. Dram (talk) 13:31, 26 May 2019 (MDT)

Conquest

Them, what, really already 42 issues? Of these magazines? Cool. I saw only basic 4... It would be great if someone created at least minimal articles on them...--Darkelf77 (talk) 10:34, 18 June 2019 (MDT)

  • Yeah, Conquest is a weekly magazine. Dram (talk) 10:40, 18 June 2019 (MDT)

Arkan/ Arkhan Confederates

1.) Did you check which spelling is correct before making the redirect? See the Talk page.
2.) When you make such a correction you always have to correct all instances of the wrong spelling (via the "What links here" tool").
--Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 22:46, 8 July 2019 (MDT)

The novel refers to the Regiment as the Arkan Confederates. Based on the last statement KazilDarkeye wrote in the talk page, it seems like the Black Library website is the only source for the Arkhan misspelling. Dram (talk) 09:43, 9 July 2019 (MDT)
Again, I can only apologise. KazilDarkeye (talk) 10:18, 9 July 2019 (MDT)
No problem. Dram (talk) 11:07, 9 July 2019 (MDT)
No harm done. For the future I would however suggest that the person who "fixes" such issues leaves a small note on the talk page, so that we know it was checked and not just corrected on user input. Just to smooth out procedures. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 10:47, 9 July 2019 (MDT)
I'll make sure to do so from now on. Dram (talk) 11:07, 9 July 2019 (MDT)

Images

The addition of footnotes to all images in articles is mandatory. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 01:33, 8 August 2019 (MDT)

Iron Ravens

Two small things (otherwise I liked it):

  • Information contained in templates must also have footnotes.
  • The source link has to conform to the following format to reprise all available information: [Warhammer Community: Successor Chapter Showcase: Paul Norton’s Iron Ravens (Posted 12/08/2019)] (Last accessed on 12 August 2019). I will make both points clearer in the Citations guidelines.

In addition articles like this that are of a somehow disputable canonicity greatly benefit from a short note explaining who Paul Norton is and that this Chapter is his own invention. This does not meann it is unofficial. But in the end it is not exactly the same as a Chapter that was for example included in a Codex.

Please do not take this as criticism, thanks. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 11:08, 12 August 2019 (MDT)

No problem, I didn't take it as criticism and thanks for fixing the page. At the bottom of the article, though, Norton states the Iron Ravens will appear in the Codex: Space Marines (8th Edition, 2nd Codex), so I will add that to the notes section of their page. Dram (talk) 12:02, 12 August 2019 (MDT)

Thumbsup, excellent. I also saw by chance that Norton is on one of the recent Warhammer TV clips with his Iron Ravens (click), so if you want to add that... Ah yes, something else: Please use the {{WIP}} template while you are working on an article - yesterday I didn't know if you were going to still add images or not... Thanks! --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 22:43, 12 August 2019 (MDT)

Gammus

  • I would suggest to clearly distinguish between general information and introduction. In almost all cases a one or two sentence paragraph at the beginning of the article that is separated from the details immensely improves readability. I also introduced subsections.
  • I also changed the tense as the events described is clearly are clearly in the past.
  • I would also like to point out that it is expressively wished for to create all possible internal links, even if the the target article in question does not exist (yet). Also the rule of thumb is that any given article should be linked to once per paragraph.
  • Please write ship names etc in italic, thanks.
  • --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 03:21, 23 August 2019 (MDT)

New Dark Angels Characters

  • Are you sure that Inias and Estrael have replaced Belial and Sammael as Grand Masters? Reading the story in the link, it doesn't look like they're referred to that way? KazilDarkeye (talk) 20:40, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
    • Your right, I undid the changes I made. Dram (talk) 20:48, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

Axis

Is there actually another use of the term? --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 22:48, 29 February 2020 (UTC)

No. Dram (talk) 23:16, 29 February 2020 (UTC)

Imperial/ Imperium

Hello, I noticed that "Imperial" redirects to "Imperium of Man". Therefore I do not think that linking to in two consecutive sentences (once for the adjective and once for the substantive) is strictly necessary. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 11:48, 3 March 2020 (UTC)

A typo?

In your article Hexarchy you made two sorces (1c and 1d) as the same (Chapter 28 - Valerian). May be it's a typo? May be you forgot to change the source for the 1d and just copied it from 1c?

  • I removed **1d: since its a duplicate of **1c: and I removed **1e: since it was not located anywhere within the Hexarchy article. Dram (talk) 14:26, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
It seems it was actually my mistake of copy-paste. Sorry. I've edited the article appropriately. Sorry for bothering.--Darkelf77 (talk) 17:45, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
No problem. Dram (talk) 19:20, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

Request

I only have limited access to Watchers of the Throne: The Regent's Shadow (Novel) at the moment and you seem to have completed it and have made some (nicely done) articles on the subject. Could you update the books events on the articles for Valerian and Aleya? Much appreciated if you can Harriticus (talk) 02:21, 16 March 2020 (UTC)

  • Sure, no problem. I'll start on it as soon as I can. Dram (talk) 03:58, 16 March 2020 (UTC)

Commas

Maybe helpful, cheers! --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 07:04, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

About the White Dwarfs and their numbers

Hello. Please, when you add a White Dwarf as a source, please pay additional attention to the fact that all issues of Britain WD magazines have their own articles, which should be referred to in these cases. I mean this article ---> https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Varus_(Dreadnought). So, if it's a WD#342, find the appropriate White Dwarf 342 (UK) (you can respectively compare so that the cover of your magazine matches the one presented in the article) and add its link to the article. Thank you.--Darkelf77 (talk) 10:10, 24 April 2020 (UTC)

Sure. I'll try to find the White Dwarf issue the article came from. Dram (talk) 13:41, 24 April 2020 (UTC)

I have already fixed everything. I mean - for the future.--Darkelf77 (talk) 14:17, 24 April 2020 (UTC)

Recent planet additions

Hello, please remember that footnotes are also required for information contained in tables, thank you. And it might make sense to include them in one list or another, although from the top of my head I do not know which corresponding lists we actually have right now. Cheers. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 06:55, 10 June 2020 (UTC)

Indomitus

I've noticed you're adding a lot of stuff from Indomitus and it seems you've read it. If in the future you could add information on the battle that takes place in it, that would be greatly appreciated. If you're too busy or don't feel like it that's fine too Harriticus (talk) 05:38, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

9th Ed codexes

Do you have scans of the 9th edition Necron and Marine codex or do you have physical copies? I’m having a lot of trouble getting them from my usual sourceHarriticus (talk) 23:48, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

I've been looking at Youtube reviews of the codices. Dram (talk) 02:50, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
I see. I might have to bite the bulletin and buy them by this point. Thanks anyway! Harriticus (talk) 03:51, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
