General information

Please note that we will be forced to remove the articles completely if you can not provide exact sources. No offence, thanks. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 10:56, 24 August 2011 (CEST)

Image format

It would be greatly apreciated if you would use the format everybody else uses: jpeg. PNG is way too big. Thanks. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 09:47, 1 September 2011 (CEST)

Please do replace your older picture with the new format, too. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 08:20, 2 September 2011 (CEST)

Battle of Tyrok Fields

Good work on the article, although I think you have made an mistake with the sources. You have sourced with a 2 instead of a 1b i think. Could you please check. Good work otherwise all round on your edits everywhere.--Ytokes 08:21, 5 September 2011 (CEST)

Void Spinner

Addition of images also falls under these guidelines: Template:Howtosource Then, the image needs to be categorized! Also, ridiculous amount of white space. Microsoft Office can easily remove it. NTC3 11:46, 24 September 2011 (CEST)

Again.

You have started using internal links in the image summary, but please, add categories to your images, for Ruinous Powers' sake! NTC3 05:12, 2 October 2011 (CEST)

Issues

M'Kachan

Conflicting/ retconned official information like the Daemon prince thingy should be reprised in a "Notes" section instead of just completely removing it. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 21:18, 13 November 2011 (CET)

Sourcing request.

Can you please help with clarifying the sources in the Ork articles? Many of them use 3rd/4th Edition Codex as their source, but lack the page numbers. Any help will be appreciated. NTC3 03:00, 26 November 2011 (CET)

Sourcing request - Necrons/Dragon of Mars

Hi, I'm working on the Dragon of Mars/Void Dragon pages atm, and have been told Codex:Necrons 3rd edition, pg 11 contains info along the lines of -

 • "Interrogation of Tech-Adept Uvochi. - This article sees the introduction of the Void Dragon residing on Mars, specifically within the Noctis Labyrinth, an area visited by five Necron Shroud-class Light Cruisers. Although only one successfully landed on the soil of Mars, each ship survived alarmingly well, even against the greatest defences in the Imperium, until they were finally all vapourised."

If you have that codex would you be able to check if that info is correct? Cheers. Thelemur 01:38, 3 December 2011 (CET)

NVM - sorted! Thelemur 01:57, 3 December 2011 (CET)

Thanks very much mate, you are my hero :) Thelemur 02:16, 3 December 2011 (CET)

Weapons and stuff

As I just had a look at the nonstandard Dark Eldar weaponry: Articles like that are counterproductive. There should be one big article listing all equipment. The individual piece of equipment then is explained in its own article. Like it is now it's not good. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 20:22, 13 December 2011 (CET)

Cerebore

Hey, I saw that you made the articles for the Cerebore, Viciator and the Viragon. Nice work. I was mostly interested in whatyou have written for the Cerebore, I thought the only "information" on it was from the CCG cards, but I see you added it was in CA 2001, would you be able to quote that section/page/whatever, I'm fanatically interested in seeing what it says.

Source Request - Consecrators

Hi again, if you get a moment could you check the info on the Consecrators page? The talk page says-

"This seems a bit suspect...only a hundred marines left? There's no such info found in the sourced book.

 • Homeworld: Talon(after abandonment)
 • Speciality: Hunting the fallen
 • Battle Cry: For the lion
 • Estimated strength: 100"

the only given source on the page is Codex: Dark Angels (4th Edition), p. 75 Thanks. Thelemur 00:32, 3 January 2012 (CET)

You are a Demi-god sir! Thanks again. Thelemur 03:44, 3 January 2012 (CET)

Bolt pistol problem

You wrote: "The Bolt Pistol is a smaller handheld version of the venerable Bolter. Though it fires weaker bolt rounds from a smaller magazine then its larger cousin, the Bolt Pistol's small size and weaker recoil makes them popular sidearms among Space Marines and Imperial Guard Commissars. Assault Marines in particular favor the Bolt Pistol, frequently using them alongside the Chainsword.Template:C" --> the source however does not say anything about using weaker bolts. Please explain. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 21:48, 13 January 2012 (CET)

Heavy bolter problem

See here, I checked both sources given and neither said anything on the subject. Plus we know that there are even (admittedly big) Imperial soldiers who slugged HBs around. Plus the sisters of battle and SM Scouts who also do it. So again: please be always very, very careful with what you write. Stuff like that is just ammunition for our critics. Thanks. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 23:31, 13 January 2012 (CET)

Armoury Lists

Thanks for filling in all the blanks and adding new articles mate! Thelemur 03:44, 19 January 2012 (CET)

Again

When yoiu insert any (I really mean ANY) information into articles they need a footnote. That of course includes pictures. They need fotnotes. Inside of the article. Thanks. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 10:59, 22 January 2012 (CET)

Manticore Missile

I wanted to apologize, when I created the Manticore (Missile) article from the disambiguation page I didn't realize you had already done Manticore Missile. I was just going to have yours redirect to mine since it included more sources but I realized that would be rude and decided wanted to ask first which you would prefer.BeeWolf 23:02, 24 January 2012 (CET) Will do, thanks.

Kill Team Project

Hi, since it is frequently the case that a small group of users end up working on various pages/projects together - I thought it might be an idea to have a page where we can discuss our various ideas together in one place, rather than over lots of different talk pages. I set up a page here for us to do that. I dont know if this idea will take off, or if anyone will be interested, but I thought it was worth trying - let me know what you think. The Lemur 03:41, 20 March 2012 (CET)

Iron Warriors Images

On Honsou's page, there is an image of him with his Necrontyr arm; any idea where it came from?

Also, on the Warhammer 40,000 wiki page, there is an image of M'kar, apparently by the same artist. Are they from the same source, and do you have access to it?--Proteus77 02:46, 17 April 2012 (CEST)

The image of Honsou comes from the Iron Warrior (Novella), made by Neil Roberts. It and pictures of what I assume are Adaric Vaanes, Etolph Cycerin, and the Newborn are also available at his gallery SkinnyElbows. I know that Honsou and Grendel's images were included based on Black Library's site, but I don't know if Vaanes, the Newborn, and M'kar were included in the published version, not that such facts have ever stopped the 40K wikia. -- SFH 05:56, 17 April 2012 (CEST)
Is there an objection to uploading these images from SkinnyElbows and using them here?--Proteus77 07:21, 17 April 2012 (CEST)
As long as the novella citation is given I don't see why not. The M'kar one clearly isn't fanart if you compare it to the other pictures given in the source.--Harriticus 07:30, 17 April 2012 (CEST)

Image cats

Just fropping a line to say you forgot to add a cat to the File:IGVeteran.jpg. It seems like a lot of people are forgetting to at the moment. COuld you add one please?--Ytokes 08:02, 23 April 2012 (CEST)

Stormtalon banter

Thank you for your comments on the Stormtalon issue, much appreciated! I know Inq S's job is to be a bureaucrat - we need him to be stern to keep the whole project running, but I think certain other users dont seem to understand that the nature of a wiki is that we all work together for the (Tau quote) "Greater Good". Cheers. The Lemur 21:49, 31 May 2012 (CEST)

New way of sourcing

Since you seem to be creating a lot of new articles, could you abandon the old method of sourcing (1) and use the new one? (For the article text1;for the source list1)

Thank You--Ashendant 22:35, 30 June 2012 (CEST)

Space Fleet

I believe they're from WD 139 to 147, which had the expanded Space Fleet rules in it. I've been debating how best to include them in the full lists, but in the end just went for adding in images of the ones that don't share a name with a BFG version for now. Agree that a proper article on each would be good, though I'd be tempted to add them as 'previous editions' on the appropriate pages for ones that have a later version such as the Emperor and the Gothic etc. Phunting 00:36, 26 February 2013 (CET)

Tau Codex Sourcing

Some of the sources listed in your recent edits of several pages are clearly wrong. For the Poctroon, Codex: Tau Empire (6th Edition), page 49, is given as source yet that page of the Codex is dedicated to the entry of the Razorshark Fighter... For Mu'galath Bay, the source mentionning a reactor meltdown is listed as page 53, yet it's the page for the entry about Kroots... Please correct this! Nash 15:59, 14 April 2013 (CEST)

I used the ipad e-book version of the codex. I don't have the standard version unfortunately. --Harriticus 17:18, 14 April 2013 (CEST)
... Right, i'm not a admin but please don't answer questions in different talk pages...
I don't know how to deal with this problem in this case. So i'll ask for help.--Ashendant 22:43, 14 April 2013 (CEST)
Well, I'm not sure how we're supposed to deal with the situation of a single source on multiple support, so I'll let the "Powers-that-Be" solve this issue.
However, I checked my "dead-tree" version of the Codex: Tau Empire (6th Edition) and the actual pages are pg.28 for the info on the Poctroon and pg.29 for Mu'galath Bay, so you've got them if you need them.
And if any other event was referenced with the iPad page numbers, and they eventually need to be corrected too, feel free to contact me on my talk page, I'll look up the actual paper version page numbers ASAP. Nash 15:36, 15 April 2013 (CEST)
If that Ipad-version is an offcial version, it is valid. Just add in the sources which "medium" the pagenumber refers to. And ideally list both "digital" and "paper" pagenumbers where possible. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 12:51, 16 April 2013 (CEST)
Hi. Your pages 13-15 reference from the Imperial Armour Volume Four - The Anphelion Project in the Magos Biologis article were also off, I'm guessing for a similar reason. Let me know what section it was from and I'll put in the proper references, but I'm afraid I don't have the strength to wade through the large amount of text in the book to try and find the reference alone!Phunting 01:19, 8 August 2013 (CEST)

Volkite Caliver Image

Hello. Please specify the book and page of the source for Volkite Caliver image - [2] that you have changed from the FW image. I couldn't find this image in the Horus Heresy Books myself (though I think that you took the image from one of them). Thank you.--Darkelf77 (talk) 07:43, 13 January 2016 (MST)

Images Position in the Galleries

Hi. Note please, that I make changes in the display of the galleries not because I just want, but because with you method (like that you've changed in the “Volkite Weapons” gallery) it is displayed on the 1024x600 resolution (at least) pretty bad – protrudes from the overall picture (Something like that - http://imgur.com/zRnVMn7). I think that my method is better, because with it, pictures displayed within the background and don't protrudes anywhere regardless the resolutions of the monitors or notebooks. On the other hand, if it is fundamentally to you - let it be as you've done it.--Darkelf77 (talk) 06:22, 14 January 2016 (MST)

Minotaurs

Please re-check all of your today editions (about Minotaurs) - because I didn't delete your information about the Night Reapers and Canon Conflict, though it is showed as if I did. The Purge characters

The Purge (Novella) I just finished the plot summary, and there are many characters who have pages that could use the details added with the chapters (from the Word Bearer series) and others that could have new pages. A lot of it is just copy and paste to create the character pages or add to the existing ones. I will be gone for the weekend, so I won't have time. If you want to work on it, feel free. Midnight Sun (talk) 22:57, 4 February 2016 (MST)

I'll give it a look perhaps, the next big project for me is going to be the Curse of the Wulfen book though. As for this, I haven't read The Purge myself nor do I have it atm.--Harriticus (talk) 01:14, 5 February 2016 (MST)

Two Centuries?

"The Legion's Primarch Corax was not reunited with the Legion for nearly two centuries."

From the Raven Guard page. That doesn't seem like it is right, especially when people who helped him liberate his home were made Space Marines, suggesting that the liberation didn't have too much of a timing difference. Midnight Sun (talk) 21:08, 18 February 2016 (MST)

I didn't write that bit so I don't know exactly where they got the figure from. But Corax was reunited late in the Great Crusade, he didn't even meet the two lost primarchs. He was found right before Alpharius.--Harriticus (talk) 21:10, 18 February 2016 (MST)
I know you didn't write it, but I'm sure you'd be able to verify. Another page suggests only 3 decades passed from beginning of legion until his take over. I find it all odd. Midnight Sun (talk) 21:31, 18 February 2016 (MST)
I'll check Index Astartes articles and the Forge World Heresy book on the Raven Guard. If it isn't there I dunno where it'd be.--Harriticus (talk) 21:32, 18 February 2016 (MST)
The citation says it is from the Forge World book. Also, can you verify the language regarding the ousting of the former leader. I would love to get the actual text because it seems off or I am missing something. Midnight Sun (talk) 21:34, 18 February 2016 (MST)

Anvillus

I think that Anvillus and Anvilus Nine - are two different Forge Worlds. One "l" in one and two "ll" in other. That may be not a usual typo of the FW. For example, we also have Anvillus Pattern Dreadclaw (Anvillus) and Anvilus Autocannon Battery (probably from Anvulus Nine).--Darkelf77 (talk) 13:38, 4 April 2016 (MDT)

I really doubt it's the case, but revert it by all means because there's no solid proof one way or the other. --Harriticus (talk) 15:31, 4 April 2016 (MDT)
So, I may revert it, or we leave it as it is now?--Darkelf77 (talk) 04:19, 5 April 2016 (MDT)
Sure revert it if you want--Harriticus (talk) 11:58, 5 April 2016 (MDT)

Not Yet Released

Please don't number and move books to the official released section until they are officially released. BL has a history of changing numbers, changing formats, etc. due to various issues. Midnight Sun (talk) 20:56, 31 May 2016 (MDT)

Question

[3] Why did you label this image from the cover of Outcast Dead as anyone but one of the space marines of the Outcast Dead? I can find no support that this is Arik Taranis. Midnight Sun (talk) 14:16, 5 August 2016 (MDT)

Guy on the cover is wearing Thunder Warrior armor and Taranis is the only Thunder Warrior to appear in the book. Figured it was him. If you don't think that's sufficient remove it by all means.--Harriticus (talk) 04:22, 6 August 2016 (MDT)

Redirects

You redirected The Wild King (short story) to The Wild King. Don't do that. Only do the reverse. Otherwise, it causes a lot of problems later. All short stories need to be marked (short story) in wiki title. Midnight Sun (talk) 20:04, 18 September 2016 (MDT)

Dark Imperium Template

I think we should put together a template for the Dark Imperium (including Gathering Storm) series of books, manuals, etc. What do you think? Midnight Sun (talk) 11:10, 5 June 2017 (MDT)

Do what you want sounds fine--Harriticus (talk) 13:04, 5 June 2017 (MDT)
I'll link it after I throw something together for you to use. Midnight Sun (talk) 14:47, 5 June 2017 (MDT)

Not a Canon Conflict

[4] The novel makes it clear that his discovery was psychic and not physical. It also makes it clear that Magnus did a lot of stuff before being united with his legion. Midnight Sun (talk) 08:38, 16 October 2017 (MDT)

well then I misread, make the appropriate changes--Harriticus (talk) 18:57, 16 October 2017 (MDT)

Note

[5] You cannot throw cited material at the end of a paragraph when that cited material does not cite the rest. It causes confusion. You also removed a "cite this" that you cannot remove with that reference. Midnight Sun (talk) 08:39, 16 October 2017 (MDT)

Eh? didn't even notice. Must have happened in editing--Harriticus (talk) 18:58, 16 October 2017 (MDT)

Deceiver

I think that you was wrong, moving the Deceiver article to Mephet'ran‎. The Mephet'ran may be just name of the one of the shards of this C'tan God. The Deceiver is an old name, I don't think that an all Necron's background would be remaked because of one of the novels. Though I couldn't say that I strongly convince in it. I think somebody may also say their opinions to make a final decision.--Darkelf77 (talk) 11:01, 30 January 2018 (MST)

Deceiver and Mephet'ran were merged a long, long time ago (~2011). I just redirected a name but realize it was a typo so undid it.--Harriticus (talk) 11:16, 30 January 2018 (MST)
In 2011? OK, I didn't know it. Then I really don't insist.--Darkelf77 (talk) 11:49, 30 January 2018 (MST)

armada

Contrast is really poor on the latest crop of dark eldar battlefleet gothic images. The entire image is basically black with a few green blobs. Is there any way to improve it? Bobmath (talk) 09:02, 25 January 2019 (MST)

I could try to re-upload them with a different color at some point, overall the ship gallery in the game has sub-par views of many of the ships Harriticus (talk) 09:08, 25 January 2019 (MST)
Boosting the brightness and contrast way the heck up (~90) seems to help, what do you think? I'd rather not manipulate jpegs if I can help it, it's better to edit the originals. Bobmath (talk) 09:17, 25 January 2019 (MST)
I've reuploaded new versions, upped contrast/brightness to the max and changed color scheme. Best I can do. Harriticus (talk) 10:15, 25 January 2019 (MST)
Great, they're a lot more visible now. Bobmath (talk) 10:32, 25 January 2019 (MST)

Hiya, whenever you feel like it you can have a look at the changes I made to Warhammer Combat Cards. Cheers! --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 11:19, 8 March 2019 (MST)

All looks like good improvements, thanks Harriticus (talk) 17:47, 8 March 2019 (MST)

Would you able to update Lexicanum? I can provide quotes and links showing everything is from unreliable narrators and that canon does not exist in Warhammer. 1d4chan has a page showing titled "Canon" showing such and showing quotes from authors about it.

Canon exists, and lexicanum has always operated under this regard.Harriticus (talk) 02:10, 19 April 2019 (MDT)

User:Waiting123456 "With Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000, the notion of canon is a fallacy. [...] Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 exist as tens of thousands of overlapping realities in the imaginations of games developers, writers, readers and gamers. None of those interpretations is wrong."

Gav Thorpe, Lead Designer GW

"It all stems from the assumption that there's a binding contract between author and reader to adhere to some nonexistent subjective construct or 'true' representation of the setting. There is no such contract, and no such objective truth."

Andy Hoare, Game Designer GW (in the comments)

"There is no canon. There are several hundred creators all adding to the melting pot of the IP."

"Here's our standard line: Yes it's all official, but remember that we're reporting back from a time where stories aren't always true, or at least 100% accurate. If it has the 40K logo on it, it exists in the 40K universe. Or it was a legend that may well have happened. Or a rumour that may or may not have any truth behind it."

Marc Gascogne, chief editor Black Library

If you want more you are going to have give the confirmation code as the site won't let me use external links without it. 1d4chan has a page for this and while 1d4chan mostly uses memes, it does have accurate info in certain parts and is moderated as Lexicanum and most wikis are.

I have read Mark of Calth and have the collector's hardback edition for the book with black and white illustrations. Below is a quote where Ollanius time traveled back to Verdun and he found a diary that had "M'kar" written over and over (it seemed one of the soldiers lost their minds). There is a picture of Ollanius in the book and its the one on Lexicanum.

"They sleep the next night in a wood, in the rain. They make a shelter using canvas rolls they brought from the trailer, and eat some ration packs. Artillery thumps and drums in the distance. There is a war going on over the hill. Oll knows he is being played with. It is a pine wood, a familiar scent. He is not sure, but he is pretty convinced he knows this place too. Is this benevolent guidance, or someone leading him into a trap? Most likely the same person, either way. Damn you, John. Oll gets up early, and leaves them sleeping. If he remembers it right, there is the end of an old communication trench not three hundred paces from the line of the wood. He can smell the river, which means that Verdun is to the west. The trench is right where he remembered it, right where he and the other men dug it. It is abandoned, slightly overgrown. A shift in shelling caused a tactical displacement, and this part of the line got emptied out. Small blue weed-flowers nod. Grass sprouts between tumbled sandbags. Bulwark armour-plates are rusting. The trench floor decking is sodden and unmaintained. He can smell coffee grounds and nettles, and latrines. The bright brass of spent shell cases litters the ditch and the sandbag line. Oll follows the jink in the zigzag trench under a low cover-top. He walks slowly, warily, carrying a rifle that will not be made for almost another thirty thousand years. There is the down-step into the officer’s dugout. He remembers it all, as if it was yesterday. In the dugout, there is a small desk made from a fruit box: a coffee pot, a stove, a dirty enamel mug. There is a dark stain on the back wall. Someone left in a hurry, someone who was hurt. On the desk, there is a log book. He opens it. It is a repurposed civilian diary, locally manufactured. The paper is cream, the numbers and the ruled lines all printed in the faintest blue. The diary was intended for a year ‘1916’, a date so antique that he can barely make sense of it."

Clear canon exists, and these quotes don't change that. You won't have a story with the Emperor walking around in M41, because it violates canon. I consider the issue closed.Harriticus (talk) 14:46, 19 April 2019 (MDT)

Forgechain

Iron_Hands#Forgechain --> I still don't understand from reading the text if this is an augmetic every Iron Hand gets one of. And is it correct that Iron Hands can jump between different Clans? Because that is somehow how it comes across. Please clarify. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 02:07, 27 May 2019 (MDT)

Alright I've added clarification. As for jumping between clans, yes the source does seem to indicate that. The exact text is "Each new vertebrae torn loose and replaced represents the Iron Hand’s acceptance into another clan company." Harriticus (talk) 08:30, 27 May 2019 (MDT)
Okay, just seemed weird to me - but then I am not an expert on Iron Hands. And you know, AH and logic... ;) --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 11:28, 27 May 2019 (MDT)

And the multiple chapters-citation (see above)? --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 04:13, 2 June 2019 (MDT)
I mean it can be difficult to cite entire novel events sometimes. Saying "the traitors won at Beta-Garmon", where would I cite that specifically? Maybe the last chapter? Harriticus (talk) 04:18, 2 June 2019 (MDT)
Yes, just a short explanation/ input from your side on the help talk page would be appreciated to have the different aspects to factor in. Because the point is to later take them into account when rewritting the Help section. So in this case for example the necessity to distinguish between events that can be pinpointed and events that stretch out. Thanks. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 04:23, 2 June 2019 (MDT)

Can you think of an in-universe explanation as to how Ollanius is Caucasian (white)? The hardcover collector's version for "Mark of Calth" shows a picture him as white. He was born in Nineveh about 45,000 years ago. Waiting123456

You replaced an existing image with a new one. I do however think that your image does not show the same minis. See also here, those are not the same miniatures. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 15:40, 25 September 2019 (MDT)

I did that a while ago, but I do think they're the same mini set. There's only been 3 Dire Avengers sets as far as I know (1st, 2nd, and 4th editions) and I believe they're both the 4th. If you feel it's different change it back by all means though. Harriticus (talk) 17:13, 25 September 2019 (MDT)
Yes, I know it was a while ago, but it came up now because I was discussing and researching minis together with a colleague from the German Lex. Currently the facts about the 3rd edition Dire Avengers are not completely clear. It seems as if when Codex Craftworld Eldar came out in 2000 GW at first simply used the old Dire Avengers metal models with a different paint scheme (I also don't think there are different 1st and 2nd ed models). Then at some later point there probably was an update of the Plastic Guardians boxed set with the aforementioned metal bits. If my info on these models is correct at least the Exarch got another update later (look at the weapon arms), but it is entirely possible that the trooper models remained the same. But this is an ongoing research. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 01:52, 26 September 2019 (MDT)

Spirit Stones and Wrath Constructs

Sorry, I have no access to discord, so will discuss there. About this your edit https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=Asuryani&curid=59312&diff=417189&oldid=417088 Technically speaking it is spirit stones that inserted in Wraith Constructs. BUT! - with the soul of Aeldari inside those stones, of course. The matter is that this is done so that in case of destruction of the Construct, the Spirit Stone can be removed, then re-placed in a new Construct or back into the infinity circle (similarly as in the case of normal Craftworld Eldar). In the variant that you proposed, the reader may get the impression that the soul is placed directly in the construct, and this is not so, otherwise without protection of the Stone, at the time of the destruction of the construct, Slaanesh would devour such a soul. I suggest replacing the text with variant like this - 'Other Souls are plugged into Wraith Constructs via the Spirit Stones, where such souls rejoin the living as engines of war'. If you are against, let me know.--Darkelf77 (talk) 11:18, 12 February 2020 (UTC)

Ok, we will have to check that. Because the past practice of some people of simply extrapolating planet names from regiment names is problematic. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 01:11, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

Another Perpetual in the Siege

I saw the leaked book excerpts for a Perpetual named Erda who appeared in Dan Abnett's first Siege book. She met the Emperor when they were roughly coeval during the days of the first cities of Old Earth. We learn other things from her, though I will not spoil more.

We might have to make a page for her when we get to reading Saturnine (Novel)

Waiting123456 March 24, 2020, 2:32

Erda

"By the time of the Siege of Terra, Erda was living in exile at Guelb, an ancient site close to her birthplace. Living with a group of servants and the Space Marine Leetu, she was eventually visited by John Grammaticus. Grammaticus sought Erda's help in getting into the Imperial Palace and had also arranged to rendezvous with Oll Persson at her home. Erda was shocked to hear that Oll had become involved in the affairs of the Human race again, and expressed worry over his fate when he did not arrive. Though sympathetic to John's cause she ultimately said she had no way to help him enter the Palace.1"

I really, really think it is inadmissible to mix Real world and fiction within the main body text... --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 08:14, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Normally i would agree, but she specifically calls Guelb by its real world name and even calls it Mauritania. She goes into detail about a real world site so I felt it was appropriate. Harriticus (talk) 14:22, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
With GW we never know in how far or at all "Real World" is applicable. Therefore let's just strictly distinguish between the actual article section and the trivia section - and keep them generally separate. Apart from that it would pose the very practical problem that if somebody were to write an in-universe article about "Guelb" if it was or will be described in one of the books some articles would not point to the correct Lexicanum article but instead to the Real World Wikipedia article. And that would make no sense whatsoever. "Trivia" is the place where we can overlap, not outside of it. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 20:31, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Centurion Squads in Space Wolves and Blood Angels forces templates

Hello there! I noticed that Centurion squads are included in the Space Wolves and Blood Angels forces templates, although they aren't included in those Chapters' Codexes, or fiction that I'm aware of (although there's plenty I haven't read). As you've put a lot of care into the forces templates, I thought it best to run this by you before removing them, in case there's a source I'm unfamiliar with.

(The Dark Angels are almost in the same position, although the September '19 White Dwarf has a line mentioning the Dark Angels combine "the immense firepower of Hellblasters and Devastator Centurions" on p.30.) RevTibe (talk) 02:00, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Garviel Loken power/sword issue

Hello, this is an issue that has popped up two times recently. Apparently there is some confusion if Loken acquired a power (as you wrote) or a force sword from Rubio. The latter option has been satisfactorily sourced with screenshots from "The Buried Dagger" (IIRC). Could you be so kind to provide a screenshot of the passage from "Saturnine" you used for your entry? Just to know if we have some minor error from our side here or if it is one of the GW fuckups we should make a footnote of, thanks. I do not have access to "Saturnine", otherwise I would have checked myself. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 08:38, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

I’m not sure what kind of sword it is. I assumed it was power because that’s the default. It may have been force in saturnine. I’m away right now but will try to research it at some pointHarriticus (talk) 13:59, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
I have now found a Loken-sword reference as a definite "force" weapon in Part 3, Chapter 1. Are you sure Loken is even in Chapter 5? Obviously I am just skimming here, not properly reading line by line, page by page... --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 14:00, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

Okay. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 07:02, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
Well I've reviewed it. The original citation was part 3, chapter 5. The book is divided into 3 parts which makes the citations even more complicated. However this is also wrong and it's in fact part 3, chapter 6 (or the epilogue) where he appears. specifically page 541-542. This part does not have a chapter number assigned to it (despite being the 6th segment of the part) so I incorrectly counted backwards to determine its number apparently. I had also confused the afterward for the epilogue. I've since changed the citation to just "epilogue". Harriticus (talk) 15:15, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
Ok, thx. I reviewed those two pages and as far as I see they only refer to Rubio's sword as a "gladius", so no contradiction of the previously established *force* sword issue. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 08:11, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
