You have to read this

Hy there, it has been a while. My vacations are over and I returned to my edits at the Fantasy Lex. I found this site by pure chance and IMHO you have to read it [1].

The description about you is accurate and funny: The Grand High Marshall of Punishment himself, Inquisitor S., is the most notorious admin on the english Lexicanum. He is equally reviled and feared for his zealous crusade against any users who dare to break the law. Years of bitter warfare with marauding bands of spammers, trolls, and those who are too stupid to actually read the guidelines, have turned his heart into stone. His patience is short and he shoots first and does not ask questions later.

Remember brother Inquisitor: To be just, our law must be cruel. Aehren 04:04, 13 January 2012 (CET)

I am aware of that. And I did not write it myself ;) --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 10:50, 13 January 2012 (CET)
I did. The text before that did not match reality by far. --DetlefK 12:07, 13 January 2012 (CET)
Anyone looked at where the trolling link at the bottom of the page directs to? Hint: Its a good one!--Ytokes 22:40, 13 January 2012 (CET)

User:Dusktiger

Have you asked him why he keeps deleting his discussion-page? Maybe he's trying to hide a track-record of problems (to get more lenience next time), but maybe he just wants to clean up what he considers resolved. --DetlefK 17:03, 23 March 2012 (CET)

He just kept on deleting. And no, the issues were not resolved. Despite multiple requests the images remain without categories. Once the categories have been added and I see he knows what to do, I will unblock his talk page. Like this, it serves as a reminder. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 17:34, 23 March 2012 (CET)

Problem with user

I hereby suggest the deletion of the user-account of User:Lord of the Night/User talk:Lord of the Night: repeated failure to adhere to Lexicanum-guidelines, the latest example being his edit to the Iron Hands-page. --DetlefK 17:34, 14 May 2012 (CEST)

To be fair if the warnings were spaced out since 2010, he will have one last chance. If he fails to comply with this one, he will be blocked. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 00:04, 15 May 2012 (CEST)
My bad. I was just looking at the amount of warnings as a whole. --DetlefK 11:12, 15 May 2012 (CEST)
Happens to me, too. Nevertheless it's important to keep an eye on these people if they "collect" warnings. Just it would be a bit hard to insist on the "3 strikes" if it sprad out over a couple of years. But of course we won't be too lenient either. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 11:32, 15 May 2012 (CEST)

Warning

[2] Do not erase people's comments like this again. Furthermore, the book clearly lists the name. Many of your edits are fine, but a lot have caused damage to the encyclopedia over the last year. If this continues, I will talk to Larry about having your permissions removed because this is not healthy. Midnight Sun (talk) 09:59, 16 January 2018 (MST)

What the hell are you talking about. 1.) You should better watch the tone you take with people. Especially being so hostile when 2.) openly lying about like "Many of your edits are fine, but a lot have caused damage to the encyclopedia over the last year." since I haven't even done ANY content edits between 2015 and 2017 outside setting up people's user accounts. To be precise my last non-user account edit was on 13:09, 14 November 2014. I actually only turned up yesterday becauyse I received an e-mail stating somebody had tried to hack my sysop account by trying to reset my password. And once logged in I noticed there was a big backlog of unconfirmed account requests that I kindly reviewed as clearly the BoLS people had not gotten around to it and people might have been waiting for a response. 3.) I don't know what happened or if this is a software glitch or whatever but your comment was simply not there when I wrote mine and there certainly was no warning that a double edit had taken place. So 4.) if you want to talk to Larry about something, go ahead. I will certainly have to respond something about the way you without any obvious hierarchical position try to intimidate and bully people, not mentioning accusing them of never-happened events like causing damage or vandalism. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 13:18, 16 January 2018 (MST)
I will actually include a section on your downright hostile treatment of new users such as Haravikk as well, accusing him of "not being honest" and being condescending such as "You have not responded to any of the actual points being made. This is troubling coming from a new account like yours." You as a normal user have no seniority rights over other users, be they new or old. Whatsoever, period. And just to add: the "newbie" has specified the sources for his arguments way better than you. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 13:28, 16 January 2018 (MST)
That response proves that you have no legitimate purpose on this encyclopedia. You approved multiple accounts of people with illegitimate user names, of illegitimate user profiles, and other abuses. Your defense of Haravikk's inappropriate action is not a defense of a "newbie" but of a pattern of trying to ensure disruption. You were caught making up stuff about a source and tried to defend the brand new account that happened to agree with you. Larry should IP check the account. I'm sure it would be worth finding out what the relationship is. Midnight Sun (talk) 14:16, 16 January 2018 (MST)
I left a message on Larry's page. Your response was highly inappropriate and I will ask him to ban you. Midnight Sun (talk) 14:09, 16 January 2018 (MST)
Larry knows how Wikis work. It would be impossible for you to have deleted my comment unknowingly. There are warnings if you were editing a different version of the page. You deleted a comment on purpose. Your other contributions from the last year have been adding user pages that don't belong on this Wiki and approve names of users that are inappropriate. These are serious abuses of privilege and were done on purpose. Midnight Sun (talk) 14:12, 16 January 2018 (MST)
That's it. Bye. Larry has been provided with the necessary details. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 14:29, 16 January 2018 (MST)
You can also read his harassment on my account nearly two years ago - [3]. Though I just demanded a strict adhering the rules of Lexicanum.--Darkelf77 (talk) 14:56, 16 January 2018 (MST)
It is a sad thing to say, but I am not surprised. Clearly a history of bullying there. And I would like to point out that Midnight Sun, no matter what he presumes to be, is nothing but a normal user with no special rights, or dispensation to treat other users so poorly. I can only apologize for the time being that he was allowed to act like this. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 15:22, 16 January 2018 (MST)
If you give me your e-mail (you can send me it on my e-mail that you have as a Moderator), I could inform you if he re-appeared here under new user-name. Because I think that he couldn't change his style of communication and betray himself.--Darkelf77 (talk) 10:20, 7 March 2018 (MST)
I do get e-mail notifications when somebody edits my user talk page, so just do that. This is more secure because "personal" e-mails tend to disappear into spam nirvana too often. And yes, I would definitely appreciate being notified if you think MS is back. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 14:32, 13 March 2018 (MDT)
Affirmative.--Darkelf77 (talk) 14:56, 13 March 2018 (MDT)

Question

Are we only permitted to use links to books that are to official sites? User:Waiting123456

What? --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 02:15, 8 March 2019 (MST)

Inquisitor S hey i just double checked i was using a pdf of the book so hard to know page numbers. But i don't think we have to update the page as the info about hunda losing his hand and his tatoo are still on interval V of the buried dagger book. its tord the end of the interval. AxelHanson

Where to ask questions?

Hello Inquisitor. I am new here and have several questions (mostly concerning copyright). I have gone through the help pages and found some parts to be a bit vague. Is there a specific area for me to ask questions about this? Thank you. Enough Redshirts (talk) 13:51, 13 March 2019 (MDT)

There is not really a central place. You can ask your question, I am not a lawyer, if in doubt it's a question the owner (BoLS) would presumably be the last authority. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 12:29, 13 March 2019 (MDT)
It is nothing needing of a lawyer, simply a "Is this acceptable" question. I uploaded an image from a codex (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/File:Adeptus_Ministorum_organization_chart.jpeg), and I put the the GW copyright status. I wanted to add this image to the Ecclesiarchy page. I noticed at the bottom it said "You are also promising us that you wrote this yourself, or copied it from a public domain or similar free resource (see Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum:Copyrights for details). Do not submit copyrighted work without permission!" So, is it good to add this? Also, on the Adepta Sororitas page, I added a few entries, but I copied a few sentences from the source, but cut them down. Thank you for answering.Enough Redshirts (talk) 13:51, 13 March 2019 (MDT)
1.) Images have to be categorized into the corresponding image category, just have a look around in the SoB articles, click on some pics and you will probably find the fitting one in the file details.
2.) Please sign your (user) talk page contributions with a signature - i.e. by using the signature button or simply typing --~~~~ which will be automatically transformed.
3.) The note you are referring to refers to texts - normally not to images (or charts as here). The reasoning is that what we do not allow 1:1 copies of GW texts. So no sitting and copying down whole paragraphs or pages from the books etc. Exceptions for quotes etc. of course. In any case always keep in mind we want to be an encyclopedia, so the "poetic", winding language used for example in novels is utterly useless for us. Strive to summarize in your own words while keeping the relevant details, often you also have to collate info from different sources or pages together. As a rule of thumb apart from cutting down paraphrasing into clearer words (no interpreattion or extrapolation though!) is what you should do.
Does this answer your question? If not, just ask. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 13:30, 13 March 2019 (MDT)
1) As long as I put the GW copyright status, okay to add to category, then?
2) Thank you. I did not know how to do that.
3) Yes, thank you. The text thing I was wondering about that since there was about one sentence each for three topics, so I cut down to be minimalist.
Thank you for you help.Enough Redshirts (talk) 13:51, 13 March 2019 (MDT)
You are welcome. Basically you just put the {{GWCopyright}} to every picture, as all pictures used here basically make use of GW material, so not much thinkinng required there. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 14:37, 13 March 2019 (MDT)

Wrong picture

Hey Inquisitor S. i had added the image for Chapter Master Protonus of steel confessors figure to the page but i didn't even realise to after on my pc the file was named the other chapter master. Idk if you can rename the file or not but just letting you know thank you. AxelHanson

1.) Use headings (see above). I intensely dislike people upsetting my order and just writing unter the wrong heading.
2.) Use a proper signature (--~~~~).
3.) If action is expected I expect a direct internal link to the article(s) or image(s) in question.
4.) Files can not be renamed. Re-upload the image under the correct name and report the wrong file for deletion.
5.) I would appreciate a little bit more effort in sentence structuring etc. Your posts mostly leave me guessing and trying to piece together what you actually want. Nobody expects a Nobel prize piece of literature but a certain language level is a must, sorry, no offence.
--Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 04:48, 16 March 2019 (MDT)
Also ignoring this and other previous warnings of the Admins are not appropriate. You still don't add the Category to your pictures, forcing other adepts to do it. It is not normal.--Darkelf77 (talk) 06:08, 16 March 2019 (MDT)
Regarding headings, if you use the "+" tab (to the right of "edit" at the top of the page), it will start a new section, which helps keep the discussion organized. Bobmath (talk) 11:33, 16 March 2019 (MDT)

Response to you

First off I would gladly like to state how many times you and other admins have forgotten to add summarys or other parts to images yourself and I have gone through and added them. Getting smart with somebody who isn't a admin like yourself and not helping them learn the things they don't know just shows your being childish. Your help pages are more then a mess and new people are having a hard time understanding them. Everything I learned how to do on the wiki was self taught your help pages did nothing for me. So again I say thanks for being childish and gettin smart instead of helping. Admin status is not a reason to treat new users poorly. You ever think that just because you know how to do something that that doesn't mean new users do.... I remembered my signature this time finally know how to do it.... thanks for your wise response to that issue... Alls I'am saying is if you don't want to fight with people and bash new users then make your help pages make sense. It just makes me laugh how you and darkelf77 act like you havn't forgotten summaries or Categories from time to time. I would know I have gone through many and fixed them. I know whose they are by the names of the one who added the images. People forget things man it happens I have always gone back and fixed them. Stop harrassing me about it just because your admin. Heck I even had darkelf77 get in my face about reverting a edit that he himself messed up and in the end I proved I was right on. I wont doubt You will be mad I stated my opinion and threaten to and or just ban me but it needs to be said it gets old having admins walk all over people that are new and try. Axelhanson (talk) 06:27, 13 April 2019 (MDT)

Wow, Pygmalion reloaded, so you actually are able to formulate halfway readable statements, colour me impressed. And if you are finished with complaining about whatever upset you this time (last time I wrote something on your talk page has been more than a month ago) you can either leave or not, that naturally is entirely up to you and will not really bother me either way. And just for your information: bans are reserved for users repeatedly violating Lexicanum rules, not for stating their opinion. Free information #2: I am not an "admin", I am a Bureaucrat and if you have complaints about me you consider serious enough I would recommend taking them up with BoLS which is the only level you can escalate this to, thanks. Free information #3: I don't threaten, I watch that the rules are adhered to and take the necessary measures. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 10:41, 13 April 2019 (MDT)

Well when I'am working behind you fixing your mistakes as you do mine yes I can bud! And you sure its you following the rules and not just you harrassing new users because you wanna feel you have the authority. If you could remember to do all the things you have been telling me to do yourself then I would be impressed. As again I have gone behind you as well fixing edits. Also my bad ok your not a Admin I see why.... You get talked to on your edits as much as you talk to me on mine. And when I come back seeing you talking smart in the way you tell me my mistakes. Keep feeling high and mighty though big guy... AxelhansonAxelhanson (talk) 11:12, 13 April 2019 (MDT)
