Dark Eldar Lists

"That son of a devil who messed up my hard work, I would be extremely appreciated if you would mark some sources on new Dark Eldar vehicles, weaponry, equiptment etcetera lists! "

I am (one of) the sons of a devil responsible. Sources weren't added for 2 reasons -

  • Each entry on the list links to an article that already contains the relevant sources, copying them all again on the list page seemed somewhat redundant.
  • The changes to the Dark Eldar lists were part of a project to standardise all the various factions armoury lists to follow a set format, so myself and 2 or 3 other users were working on 40 or 50 such articles at the same time - adding duplicate sources that already existed on the individual articles wasnt a high priority for us.

Since you raised the issue I contacted Inquisitor S to ask if sources need to be given for this form of list when they already exist on the article pages. If he says that they should be added then I will happily do so. Thanks. The Lemur 03:28, 2 March 2012 (CET)

Actually I don't care, I was just a bit upset when I saw all of my work had been undone. I mean that I worked something like two weeks to write all of the weapon things... and with my english... Main problem was in the Dark Eldar Weaponry (List) where the Storm Vortex Cannon was said to be a "Energy Weapon" as it actually is same gun (slightly bigger though) as Haywire Blaster. Also the thing with those DE stuff that have exactly the same meaning in the game, slightly different in the fluff but a different name is a problem. There is a equiptment Tormentor Helm which is marked as "excluded from the most recent codex". Though you have not marked this "excluded from most recent codex" to items like Punisher, Destructor (which is actually same gun as Liquifier gun), Goblet of Spite, Gruesome Talismans, Nightmare Doll and Terrorfex. And this is the part I would like to have some kind of proper "line" so everything that is in the last edition but not in the 5th should be marked somehow and all stuff with similar function but different name in the different codexes. Should they be directed to the same page or to separate pages? None will look for any Destructor for sure as it functions exactly the same way in game and in fluff in both editions... So here are my questions.. --Remos 23:25, 4 March 2012 (CET)

It was pretty certain that with working on several hundred different entries across dozens of different lists, there would be things that we missed. Sorry if you feel we messed up some of your work - but the changes were discussed on the forum before I started the project and very few people bothered to respond. As to items from different editions, we are trying very hard to REMOVE mentions of different editions as they are games-mechanics related and therefore generally against Lexicanum policy, the Tormentor helm ony got mentioned because it seemed noteworthy to mention that a "trademark" piece of Incubi equipment had been removed from the current fluff. Articles should be based on background, not on what codex they were published in so even if a gun (or whatever) is not mentioned in the current books, it is still considered to "exist" in the background. To be honest - it would be better to remove the line about Tormentor Helms being removed from 5th edition rather than add that note to other articles.

That being said, the redesign of the armoury lists was intended to be the start of a project, not the finished version. If there are things you think need change please go ahead and change them - the important thing was to make sure that the Dark Eldar pages followed the same layout as the Space Marine or Ork pages. If there is any info on pages that have been deleted, gimme a shout and I can un-delete them so we can thake any relevant info from them. Also I know that you are the guy who has done BY FAR the most work on the Dark Eldar pages, so sorry again if you feel I've fucked anything up - if you have any other specific problems with the changes please gimme a shout on my talk page and we can work together to fix them. (Sorry this reply was so long!) The Lemur 00:30, 5 March 2012 (CET)

Hey no problem : D ! I understand if here is a new theme in lists or something. I have not visited the forum in a long time so that could be it.. I'll change only if I need to... I think those new vehicle upgrades have to be reasoned somehow and I'll look into it if I may. No hard feelings what so ever! --Remos 15:59, 5 March 2012 (CET)

Imperial weapon patterns and models

I've actually started to incorporate these patterns and info on them in articles (See Stub gun and Autopistol for finished examples). I suppose your info will be useful so I'd like to express my thanks. --Rolz

You are welcome, I'm still going to list every model I find on my user page so be my guest and check them from here. I'm definately sure all sources are correct so you can use them and there are no weapons marked without source. If you noticed, I haven't found a source for Mk II bolter but for Mk II Ultima pattern bolter yes. Stupid as it is. And I thank you for doing those correct pages for the guns. Great job!--Remos 16:16, 25 August 2012 (CEST)
