Image remarks IV

Because I just noticed it again I have to reiterate it:

  • Only accepted "Copyright" field entry is {{Copyright}}, not "GWCopyright"
  • Sources must be formatted as described here, please check especially this subsection, thanks.

Catalogue name changes

  • Hi, can I ask why you decided to change the pagename for e.g. Imperial Guard Collectors' Guide? KazilDarkeye (talk) 16:07, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
    • Hey, i'm reorganizing the way catalogues are arranged in the [[Category: Miniatures: Catalogues]] by year of release, to make navigating trough the list more user-friendly rather than a chaotic mess - edit : suspending the operation to wait for your feedback --Siegfriedfr (talk) 16:12, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
      • I think the best way to do that would be to amend the category tags on each page with e.g. [[Category:Miniatures: Catalogues|put year of release here]] - that way the actual page name stays the same (allowing easy use of the search bar) but the category is organised appropriately. KazilDarkeye (talk) 16:35, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
        • Alright, i'll revert what i've done and update the catalogue pages, thanks for the tip--Siegfriedfr (talk) 16:41, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

Bayard

Slight problem with your edits for Bayard - the Firstborn and Primaris Bayard are two separate characters. The original Bayard died during the Third War for Armageddon and Primaris weren't introduced until a year later. KazilDarkeye (talk) 10:06, 25 March 2023 (UTC)

"Primaris" Bayard doesn't seem to exist, at least not in a reliable source, so i figured it best to remove the page entirely to clear all possible confusion. there also was a misuse of the 'Bayard revenge' miniature to illustrate the "Primaris" page. --Siegfriedfr (talk) 09:29, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
Fair enough, but I think I will blank the Primaris page and mark it for deletion rather than have it point to an article that it doesn't apply to. KazilDarkeye (talk) 13:30, 26 March 2023 (UTC)

Character List Bar

Since I saw you mention it on another talk page I thought I would give you my opinion of it: quite frankly I don't like it. While I appreciate the notion, I don't believe it's possible to make a one-size-fits-all template for the various list page - there are always going to be necessary differences between different lists. I saw it on the List of Admirals and two of the columns seem completely redundant in that article. KazilDarkeye (talk) 17:43, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

You should really browse the warhammer Fantasy lexicanum characters lists to understand the logic behind it before condemning it. it allows different listings to be brought together under a common template. Rest assured, i lack the will to touch any other characters list, because it's too much work for one man, and too radical a change for the entire 40k section.--Siegfriedfr (talk) 18:13, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

I won’t go into my misgivings over the new template right now and I generally support cutting down the characters sections on the Traitor Legion pages, but could you please keep that infobox template at the top of the page? It just doesn’t look good having it a bit down the page for no reason at all. KazilDarkeye (talk) 15:33, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

The reason for moving the infobox is twofold and is not for no reason at all : 1) it allows an introductory text for the article, before delving into it. Especially better on mobile. 2) it lines up with the table of contents when placed right above the first section, which makes the beginning of the page more balanced rather than a chaotic assembly of blocks. I won't touch the Loyalists pages for now, but will make all the Founding traitor s the same for consistency--Siegfriedfr (talk) 15:43, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

Also, for the Traitor Legion pages specifically, wouldn’t it be better to have a miniature in the infobox (as with Loyalist Legions/Chapters) and have the pre-Heresy banner near the image of a pre-Heresy Legionary elsewhere on the page? KazilDarkeye (talk) 15:36, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

After looking at thing, it really seems like the template was originally conceived for Chaos, as the 2 shoulderpads fit better to the right than for Loyalist and their "miniature". I'll see to modify the Traitor template so that it can have the 2 shoulderpads to the left, and a miniature to the right. --Siegfriedfr (talk) 17:09, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
As I said, you could put the pre-Heresy symbol in the main article with the image of the pre-Heresy Legionary. The infobox is squishing the text enough as it is. There are also some pages where one of the images seems too wide (Angels of Vengeance). KazilDarkeye (talk) 17:34, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

Heads up: Pre-10th ed miniature culling @FW

Seems like GW/FW are cleaning up their range before 10th ed comes out, maybe a last chance to grab certain mini pics. Link. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 11:30, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
