Valnum is a sparsely populated world of the Imperium.[1]
It was once a Knight World given the Imperial designation 72-9. During the Great Crusade the ruling Knight House, House Cratax, rejected assimilation into the Imperium and executed its emissaries. In response sixty warriors of the Thousand Sons under Captain Ohrmuzd landed on the world to force compliance.[1]
The Thousand Sons used their psychic abilities to resist fire from Cratax's small number of Knights before telekinetically killing their pilots in their cockpits. The battle lasted no more than 500 seconds and not a single Thousand Son died as House Cratax was crushed.[1]
