Dark Nexus Arena was a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) video game, that was produced by independent game developer Whitebox Interactive for the PC. Its game play was combined with the twin-stick shooter genre and the game's players would be able to engage in four-versus-four team deathmatch with various warriors from the Warhammer 40,000 universe[1]. These included Terminators, Apothecaries, Scouts, Retributors, Meganobs, Stormboys, Khorne Berzerkers, Fire Warriors, Ethereals and Lychguards[2]. In Dark Nexus' story line, these warriors had been captured by the Drukhari and were now forced to fight for their lives, within various Wych Cult arenas on Commorragh.[1]
Current Status
The game began being worked on in 2012 and was launched on Steam's Early Access Games in 2015. A launch date in 2016 was planned[3], but due to lack of players, the developer announced it was cancelling Dark Nexus instead. The game's servers were permanently shut down on March 12, 2016.[2]
