We need to change "Adeptus Sororitas" to Adepta Sororitas (see the last paragraph of this page). I'd do it, but I can't edit this page. Also, I suppose I had better translate the text at the bottom eventually, which is still in German... --Avenging Dentist 21:34, 23 Jun 2005 (CEST)

All issues regarding the Lexicanum can be discussed in the Lexicanum project forum.

:No, Adeptus is correct (refering to the organisation), Adepta is the term for the members of the organisation. --Inquisitor S. 22:04, 23 Jun 2005 (CEST)

I think you are confusing Adept with Adepta. Show us the place where it says Adeptus Soritas, when it clearly says in a White article and in the codex: Witch Hunters that it is Adepta Soritas...

:Codex Imperialis, p.13 --Inquisitor S. 22:24, 23 Jun 2005 (CEST)

Ok, I believe I have this figured out. The German GW page does talk about the "Adeptus Sororitas", but US site universally refers to them as the Adepta Sororitas (admittedly, the UK site calls them Adeptus once, but they also use Adepta and Adeptas, so I'm going to ignore them until they pick a single name). --Avenging Dentist 22:28, 23 Jun 2005 (CEST)

: apparently GW uses both versions. However I see no reason why a organisational name should be called adepta, which is plural feminine? --Inquisitor S. 22:29, 23 Jun 2005 (CEST)

It is plural feminine and the Adepta Sororitas are feminine.

Yes, but alle Organisations have names which are masculine singular? However I flipped through my Rogue Trader book, and there it is called Adepta, therefore I assume it has begun as adepta, so be it --> edited. --Inquisitor S. 22:34, 23 Jun 2005 (CEST)

Aarrrgh, who introduced the word "categoryn"...

"Adepta" is actually feminine singular, since the organization is entirely female (I took Latin in high school). As for the "Categoryn", that was probably me. When I was translating the category tree, I did a find-and-replace, and I guess I must have done it to the whole document. Oh well... --Avenging Dentist 23:37, 23 Jun 2005 (CEST)

Actually is it adepta sororita or adepta sororitas? --Inquisitor S. 11:21, 24 Jun 2005 (CEST)

Adepta Sororitas. Also under The galaxy, you have two Hive Worlds.

Maintenance categories
I think we should have some maintenace categories. I've already created :Category:Lexicanum stubs. But I also propose:

* :Category:Lexicanum pages needing attention - For pages needing some sort of cleanup. Can be detailed on the talk page.

* :Category:Lexicanum pages needing citation - In case we want people to cite their sources?

* :Category:Lexicanum inaccurate articles - For pages with wrong facts

* :Category:Lexicanum incomplete articles - Articles missing important facts, but not short enough to be just a stub.

* :Category:Lexicanum unformatted articles - Self explanatory.

* :Category:Lexicanum candidates for deletion - Pages that should be deleted by some admin.

Perhaps also a :Category:Lexicanum maintenance as main category. Can put all sorts of maintenace pages in there. --Dalen 13:42, 31 Jul 2005 (CEST)

subcategories
Shouldn't :Category:Ultramar and :Category:Maelstrom be subcategories of :Category:Ultima Segmentum,  and :Category:Eye of Terror be a subcategory of :Category:Segmentum Obscurus? --Dalen 16:58, 31 Jul 2005 (CEST)

Terra
I think that we should have a category for all things on Terra, like Imperial Palace and Bell of Lost Souls. It feels a bit awkward to categorize them under :Category:The Galaxy. What do you others think? --Dalen 21:44, 14 Aug 2005 (CEST)

:I think that it should be categorized under "Imperium" and "Segmentum Solar" --Inquisitor S. 22:36, 14 Aug 2005 (CEST)

Real world terms
I havent been able to find a category to put two articles that have links but no page(none and destroyed), do we need a category for real world non-game related articles --cpl_Hicks 18:52, 02 Oct 2005 (GMT)

:That might be sensible, but I dont think the German Lexicanum has a similar page, so i will see if I can find out how it is done over there. Most likely there arn't pages for the two, but you never know --Jonru 10:24, 3 Oct 2005 (CEST)

Witch Hunters
Should there be a witch hunters entry under Ordo Hereticus? There is already an Adepta Sororitas, but Witch Hunters are different to them - ie the Adepta are part of the bigger Witch Hunter armies.

:The Ordo Hereticus is the Witchhunters, so in my opinion no need for a category. --Inquisitor S. 16:32, 2 February 2006 (CET)

Massive amount of Fluff
Wish to add 2 other Ordo's to the Inquisition Ordo Sicarius and Ordo Militum.  Ordo Sicarius has plenty of fluff from WD and also cited from 2nd edition Codex and the Ordo Militum is a sidenote.

"The Inquisition concluded that the Officio Assassinorum was in dire need of

reorganisation, and like many offices of the Administratum more rigourous

monitoring by the Inquisition.  An order of the Inquisition was created to

monitor the Officio Assassinorum, the Ordo Sicarius."

The Critical Hit website had much of this till the fascist orginisation deleted them.  I have tracked down copies of them slightly modified for a WH40K RPG and waiting for permission to use some of their detail from the designer of the game. His references are :

Sources:

  Codex Imperialis (1993) (pp. 31-33)

  Realm of Chaos: Slaves to Darkness (pp. 246-247, 272-275)

  Inquisitor

  Codex Daemonhunters (2003)

On another note I have created several Orginisational Charts for most of the Adeptus in the Imperium based almost exclusively on canon although where this contradicts itself or is missing i hae adapted or improvised it VERY slightly. They do not seem to be uploading onto this site probably due to their format but I would very much like to share them and get some comeback from people.  Will email a copy if requested from [email protected]

:Greetings. If you have a look under Inquisition, there is the list of Orders of the Inquisition. Currently we don't have anything on either of those two other than the names and anything you could add would be greatly appreciated. As for categories, stick it under Inquisition for now and if sufficient articles derrive from this then we might be able to add an extra category. As for the Org Charts, they have to be jpg or gif or png i think to upload. I've heard of Sicarius but i've not seen anything on them (because of having neither of the inquisition codexes (Witch/Daemon hunters). I also agree with you on critical hit...was a nice site, possibly the greatest repository of 40k knowledge, but thats where we are trying to go, so hopefully we can live up to their standard. Cheers --Jonru 09:58, 13 March 2006 (CET)

::Please note that it is not acceptable to change details on your own accord, whether there are contradictions or not. --Inquisitor S. 13:21, 13 March 2006 (CET)

Inquisition
Right, decision time. Currently I find the categories for the Inquisition to be inadequate due to their inconsistancy. This I mean more the fighting wings. We have the three main inquisition branches, Malleus/Xenos/Hereticus, thats good. But, each of those has a fighting wing. These I see to be:

*Malleus - Daemonhunters

*Xenos - Alienhunters

*Hereticus - Witch Hunters

I can hear just what you are going to say, the Daemonhunters are te Ordo Malleus etc. but they aren't, they are the cover name for the Malleus fighting wing. They dont include all of the thousands of scribes, workers etc. that go together to make the Ordo Malleus. Its like saying that the armed forces are the government, which it (hopefully) isn't, but there are still members of the government which serve the army but are not actual soldiers. I hope I am making sense so far (I doubt it lol).

Next, each of the forces are made up of a select group of individuals and then a supporting group of space marines or guard or sisters or whatever, i.e. Malleus is made of Inquisitors of the Ordo Hereticus and the Grey Knights, who are not part of the Ordo, but are in fact a Space Marine Chapter! So, now we have:

*Malleus - Daemonhunters - Grey Knights

*Xenos - Alienhunters - Deathwatch (Space Marines)

*Hereticus - Witch Hunters - Adepta Sororitas (Sisters of Battle)

Currently, we have the Grey Knights in the Inquisition and Adepta Sororitas (effectivly the same part of each Inquisitorial army) under the Adeptus Ministorum. So, I ask, where do you put stuff which is part of the, say Witch Hunters army, but not part of an Adepta Sororitas army, e.g. the Penitent Engine? Putting it in the Ordo Hereticus category really does not seem to do it properly. Therefore, I suggest the following structure changes:

Inquisition

:Ordo Malleus

::Witch Hunters

:Ordo Xenos

::Alienhunters

:Ordo Hereticus

::Witch Hunters

Adeptus Ministorum

:Adepta Sororitas

Space Marines

:Later Foundings

::Grey Knights

::Deathwatch

I KNOW this will come under much fire, but why are we doing it the way we are? Its just a jumbled way that must confuse many new users, and to be honest, annoys me. I do this for the good of the wiki. Thank you for spending your time reading this and I hope you will agree with me on this. --Jonru 22:17, 18 July 2006 (CEST)
