Overview
Originally part of the Emperor's Children Legion under the command of the Captain Kasperos Telmar, the 12th company was corrupted by the forces of Slaanesh and fought for Horus during the Horus Heresy. Following the Battle of Harmony and the shattering of the Emperor's Children, the 12th became its own independent warband still under the command of Telmar, now a corrupted entity known as the Radiant King. Serving as one of the largest Emperor's Children warbands to operate outside of the Eye of Terror on a regular basis, the 12th assaulted the Eldar Craftworld of Lugganath in M34. During the fighting, Telmar was killed shortly before he could transform into a Daemon Prince. Most of the remaining warband chose to die on Lugganath in their orgy of excess instead of retreating with Fabius Bile around 100 Chaos Space Marines accompanied the Chief Apothecary and were absorbed into Fabius' Consortium. Years later, the surviving 12th Warriors proved troublesome for Fabius, and during one of his surgeries attempted a coup against him.[2]
Much of the 12th sided with Flavius Alkenex and his warriors during their attempt to assassinate Bile. When Bile's clone of Fulgrim intervened aboard the Vesalius, most of the treacherous members of the 12th either died or were overcome with awe at the Primarch's reappearance. Many more died in the meantime at the hands of Necrons on Solemnace. In the aftermath, Bile placed Savona in control of whatever small amounts of the 12th remained.[2d]
Members
The inner circle of the Radiant King was known as the Joybound. Its members at the of assault on Lugganath were:[1a]
- Gulos Palatides — Ranked 1st. Originally a Praefector of the 7th Company, now fancies himself as a swordsman like Lucius the Eternal. Killed by Oleander Koh after attempting to backstab him during The Shattering.[1]
- Savona — Ranked 2nd. Mortal Human female but heavily corrupted and mutated by the Warp. Joined Fabius Bile after The Shattering. After the battle on Solemnace she was placed in command of the small numbers of the 12th which remained.[2d]
- Merix — Wounded Emperor's Children Marine in an antiquated suit of power armour. Killed by Bile's clone of Fulgrim.[2b]

- Diomat - Contemptor Dreadnought, part of Fabius Bile's Consortium.[2a] Slain on Solemnace.[2e]
Fleet
The 12th's fleet consisted of at least five major vessels by the time of The Shattering, though by the time of the assault it had greatly grown in size thanks to allied Cultists, Pirates, and other affiliated warbands.[1a] Known vessels included:
- Quarzhazat — Lunar Class Cruiser and flagship of the Radiant King.[1a] Destroyed during an Eldar attack.[2a]
- Sly Tongue - Frigate. Destroyed during The Shattering.[1b]
- Orchalius Unbound - Frigate. Likely destroyed during The Shattering.[1b]
