3rd Semtexians
The 3rd Semtexians were a Semtexian Bombardiers regiment of the Astra Militarum.[1]
History
The regiment was amongst those mustered to defend the planet Armageddon during the Third War for Armageddon. The 3rd Semtexians were one of the last regiments to reach the Armageddon Warzone, arriving only after the Ork Fleet had established dominance over the Armageddon System. Despite the efforts of cruisers sent by Admiral Parol to screen them, the 3rd Semtexians lost a number of their Transport Vessels to ork fire. In total, barely over half of the regiment landed on Armageddon. Nonetheless, the regiment mustered on the planet's surface under the command of Colonel Evarta, the regiment's senior most surviving officer.[1]
Colonel Evarta, seeing that the 3rd Semtexians had lost all of its mechanised infantry companies in the landing and therefore any means of reliably defending the regiment's artillery, decided to split the regiment up into units that would be attached to other regiments that required artillery support until reinforcement mechanised companies could be diverted from Umbridge 144.[1]
Organisation
At the start of the Third War for Armageddon, the 3rd Semtexians consisted of 17 batteries (including four mechanised infantry companies). Only nine batteries reached Armageddon itself, however. As a result, the regiment was split into detached supporting units until it could be reinforced.[1]
