9th Brotherhood (White Scars)
The 9th Brotherhood of the White Scars, known as the Stormbolt Brotherhood, is one of the Chapter's ten Brotherhoods.[1][2a][2b]
Overview
The Stormbolt Brotherhood are deployed to support their more mobile brethren with long range weaponry. Although the tactics that they specialise in run counter to the standard principles of the Chogorian way of war, the Brotherhood is used to teach newly-elevated Neophytes from the 10th Brotherhood of the value of flexibility in combat.[2b] The White Scars are said to not make use of Devastator Squadrons[3], but the Chapter does nevertheless employ other types of Fire Support Marine formations - in particular Hellblaster Squads, Aggressor Squads, and Vanguard Eliminator Squads.[2b]
In addition to their duties in battle, a squad of the 9th Brotherhood is assigned to guard the Lightning Tower, the seat of the Chapter's Librarius on Chogoris.[2b]
The Khan of the 9th Brotherhood bears the title Master of Bows.[2a][2b]
