Aornath VI

Aornath VI was a First Noble of Necromunda's House Cawdor, who embraced the Redemption Cult and in doing so, became the House's first Thane.[1]

History

Prior to that, in early M40, House Cawdor had no true leader, as they bickered amongst themselves for control of the House. When his rivals weakened his own power, Aornath VI embraced the Redemption Cult, in an attempt to exert his control over House Cawdor. He then began to actively encourage the Redemption's faith and even gave himself the title of Thane of Cawdor. Aornath then gave the title religious meaning within the Redemption's structure and appointed himself as the head of the Cult's faith on Necromunda. Aornath's efforts worked and the Redemption Cult unified House Cawdor like nothing else had in its history. In the space of a few short decades Cawdor's population and fortunes increased many fold. However Aornath was to be undone by the very teachings he had embraced, his own people accepting that their own salvation lay with sacrifice to the God-Emperor and not the masters of the Hive. The Thane then only lived long enough to see his role usurped by pious beggars and nobles, who were far more savvy in the ways of the faith than he was.[1]
