The Argovon System[2]

The Argovon System is located within the Nephilim Sector.[1]

History

The Argovon System has been in Imperial records for at laest 8,000 years. Local myth talks of a great hero called Foronika Argovon, a Rogue Trader who discovered the system. Though hailed and glorified in the Imperial records, it is likely she was instead from a long-disgraced and heavily impoverished Rogue Trader Household. By sheer fortune she happened across the region and its enormous material wealth.[2]

During M42, it was invaded by the Necron and became a part of the Pariah Nexus, after they built a network of Noctilith Pylons within it. The System later was the site of a battle between the Xenos and the Indomitus Crusade's Battle Group Kallides, who sought to reclaim its worlds.[1]

Known Worlds

  • Argolish - Ecclesiarchy Shrine World and System Capital. It is home to colossal basillicas cathedrals, and chapels. Even basic structures have been directly dedicated and modified into places of worship for the Emperor. Here are the malevolent effects of "The Stilling" the weakest.[2]
  • Argovon - personally named by the Rogue Trader Foronika Argovon and contains enormous mineral wealth.[1] It is home to a man-made fault line through the middle of the planet known as New Argovon's Fault, or Goria's Fault. The surrounding region is beset by serious earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic activity.[2]
  • Foronika - Adeptus Mechanicus mining world. The most sparsely populated world rich in Blackstone deposits, it saw some of the heaviest fighting in the Argovon Campaign.[2]
  • Hishrea - Furthest world from the system's star. It is an Ice World of never-ending winter, tundras, dark seas, and hyperactive volcanoes. The majority of its population are nomads, following megashoals of helikoprioids over the seas on large hunting vessels. Most of the remainder live in Hive cities thqat sit atop the world's thermal vents, suffering a life of severe harshness at the hands of gas mine work or guarding against Frostwyrm incursions. Due to a Missionary presence the population is nonetheless hardy, strong-willed, and faithful.[2]
  • Iaso - Failing Agri-World. At the time of the Necron invasion its production was 10% of what it was 40 years prior. The cause for this is mysterious, and three consecutive Governors were executed for their inability to rectify it.[2]
  • Sarronik - Strange world of poor nomads at the mercies of vicious predators. However part of it has been designed as a luxurious destination for the rich, creating vast social inequality.[2]
