Battle of the Gorgon Deeps

The Battle of the Gorgon Deeps was a battle fought in 761.M39 by the Imperium. Battlegroup Orpheus, aided by the forces of the Revilers and Red Seraphs Space Marines, defeated a major Ork invasion force in a nineteen-week campaign of space battles before it could penetrate the sector. The Orks were finally curbed when its flagship 'Mega-Kroozer' was destroyed in a Terminator boarding operation. Scattered Ork forces, however, went on to prove a constant threat to Orphean worlds for centuries, often turning themselves into pirates and raiders in the Deluvian sub-sector.^[1]
