Biomortic Assassins are cyborg Assassins, that are used on the Hive World Necromunda and are more commonly known as Murder-Cyborgs.[1a]

Description

That is their entire purpose and the process to convert a Human into a Biomortic Assassin takes years of both physical surgeries and mental conditioning. This includes implanting a hard Ceramite endoskeleton, layers of subdermal armor and bionic limbs that allow them to move with an unnatural grace and silent precision that no biological creature can match. Biomortics are also grafted with Synth-skin around their arms and torso to hide weapons within, which can be activated or emerge with a mere flicker of a thought. They are given enhanced senses as well, like spectral vision eyes that see through bodies to view hidden armor, weapons and biological enhancements. The entire process leaves them with a body that is more machine, than Human. But the results allow the Assassins to appear like a blur to those who see them in action, while to the Biomortic everything will appear like its moving in slow motion, as they go in for the kill.[1a]

Mental conditioning during their creation buries a Biomortic's original personality and replaces it with one that is cold and absolutely focused on killing the targets their masters' have given them. Despite this, a small part of a Biomortic's mind will still contain a fragment of who they once were and this will even occasionally cause them to have flashbacks to their past lives. While they are aware of this part of their minds, the Assassins will not dwell on it and their conditioning will quickly suppress anything from their past. However, they are able to think and can even contemplate the chances of their survival while on missions. In the end, though, Biomortics are conditioned to accept that they are not intended to survive. Upon being activated, all that matters to their masters and to the Biomortics, is that they ensure their targets are dead.[1a]

Known Usage of Biomortics

  • Attempt on Lord Gerontius Helmawr - During the Great Rift's Noctis Aeterna, Necromunda was left in an upheaval and Gerontius struggled to bring order to the Hive World. Sensing a perfect moment to strike, a creator of a Biomortic unleashed her upon House Helmawr's Spire. Due to the impact of the giant Warp Storm, the Assassin was able to reach Gerontius, while he was conducting a meeting, and the Lord of Necromunda was struck down. However Gerontius' guards fired upon Biomortic before she could ensure he was dead and in the process they shattered a nearby wall to ceiling window. The resulting air pressure caused the Assassin to be pulled out of the shattered window and ended her threat to Gerontius. However he was left mortally wounded by the Assassin's attack and Gerontius had to be placed within a Stasis Casket to prevent him from dying.[1a]
  • A gathering of young Nobles - During the Great Rift's Noctis Aeterna, an unusual alliance formed between the youth of Necromunda's Noble Houses. They viewed the actions of their elders as recklessly endangering their future and initially all went well for the upstarts. This ended, however, when Neenas Catallus realized she had an opportunity to rid House Catallus of a generation of rivals. She then lured the other young Nobles into a secret factory meeting, before unleashing a gang of Biomortics upon them.[1b]
