Brotherhood of the Shattered Shield
The Brotherhood of the Shattered Shield was a White Scars Brotherhood active during the Great Crusade.[1a]
Commanded by Zhenjin Khan, when the Horus Heresy erupted they encountered the Night Lords in the Eastern Fringe. Long loyal to Horus and resupplied by the Night Lords, Zhenjin pledged all 3,000 of his warriors to the Night Haunter during the Thramas Crusade. Despite their allegiance they still acted chivalrously, allowing the loyalists to retreat with their wounded on Sedrrice. The Brotherhood eventually became disgusted by the behaviour of their Night Lords allies, turning against them and joining the Dark Angels at Crucible. Seeking to rectify their earlier treachery against the Imperium, they later gave their lives to disable the predator-world of Ulan Huda over Thramas.[1b]
