Brunhildius[1]

Brunhildius is an Inquisition Acolyte, whose small size contains an implacable will and iron-hard determination.[1]

History

During her service to the Inquisition, Brunhildius began investigating rumors of a Daemon that manifested itself across the Galaxy. This Daemon had in fact, suffered such damage on a now long-forgotten battlefield, that it possessed a ruined portion of a shattered cathedral. This left it anchored eternally to the ragged masonry and the Daemon now travels through time and space via Warp currents. When it manifests, the possessed portion of the cathedral appears, along with a mangled corpse that has merged with the masonry.[1]

When her research later proved that the Daemon actually existed, Brunhildius was given command of an Inquisition Warband and began pursuing it. The Acolyte's forces, however, are mysterious soldiers who wear strange and ancient armor, decorated with relics, triptychs and more. Some say these soldiers are really Solar Auxilia Troopers, who are cursed to travel the Warp tides in the same manner as the Daemon they are now pursuing[1]. Whatever the truth is, the Auxilia's years-long journey with Brunhildius has left them scarred, both physically and spiritually. This includes the dour Void Sergeant who leads them and especially the Trooper known as the Penitent. He has suffered greatly during their pursuit of the Daemon and now hides beneath a rough hood, to spare those around him the horror of his visage. Besides the Solar Auxilia, Brunhildius' Warband also include the sinister Tech-Savant Medicae, Grinvalt and a modified Scyllax Guardian, that is charged with protecting her.[2]

Trivia

Brunhildius, her Warband and the Daemon they are pursuing, were created by the Games Workshop employee John Blanche. They were featured in Warhammer: Visions 19[1] and Warhammer: Visions 20.[2]
