The Burning Halo was an intricately wrought force field projector that was forged by the Primarch Vulkan.[1]
When activated the Burning Halo projects a powerful defensive barrier; when it is struck, it converts the kinetic energy of the impact into an explosion of searing flame, directed back at the attacker. During the Horus Heresy, Lord Chaplain Nomus Rhy'tan of the Salamanders Legion bestowed the Halo upon Chaplain-Lieutenant Xiaphas Jurr, as he left Nocturne to search for their missing Primarch on Isstvan V.[1]
