Close combat weapons are anything that can be used in the assault phase to actively harm the enemy. Close Combat Weapons come in a huge variety of shapes, sizes and destructive potential. In its most basic form, a close combat weapon is simply a solid object which relies on the sharpness of its blade (or bluntness is some cases) and the strength of the user to inflict damage. More advanced weapons such as the Power Weapon, incorporate some form of powered element which will reduce the reliance of the weapon's destructive potential on the physical strength of the impact.
Often, a Close Combat Weapon is paired with a pistol of some kind. This way the user has the chance to use the gun during combat.
Types of close combat weapons
Close Combat Weapon
The Close Combat Weapon is the most basic weapon possible, ranging from a finely honed blade to a large (or even small) rock or stone. They have no special properties but are relatively cheap alternatives to having no armament at all.

Main article: Chain Weapons
Chain Weapons incorporate some form of large chain-blade somewhere on the weapon. This is very effective against strong walls but equally against layers of armour or flesh.
Main article: Shock Weapon
Shock weapons resemble power weapons, but rather than creating an energy field, they simply electrify the weapon's surface in order to stun the target.
Main article: Transonic Weapon
Transonic weapons are sonic resonance weapons which can easily slice through armor with a hostile sonic field while upon contact with flesh can make stomachs turn and eyes to vibrate in their sockets.
