The Codex Exercitus is the doctrine of the Astra Militarum, governing all aspects of its organization and battlefield tactics.[1]
Description
The original Codex is composed of many leather-bound chapters, that fill multiple floors of the Imperial Palace's library. Members of the Astra Militarum that attend officer training academies, are given copies of the Codex Exercitus' relevant sections. These contain knowledge that some would consider predictable, but it is there to restate the basics for potential officers from savage Feral Worlds. This includes the amount of Guardsmen in a Squad, the amount of Squads in a Platoon and the amount of Platoons in a Company.[1]
