History
During his rule, however, Commodus attempted to subjugate an entire world to his will in M41. This led the Inquisition to investigate the Chapter Master and the Ordos later declared him to be a Renegade for his actions. Commodus' reign was eventually ended by a Callidus Assassin and the slain Chapter Master was succeeded by Pertinax. His heinous actions, though, tainted the Sons and the Chapter began a Penitent Crusade, in order to redeem themselves.[1]
Trivia
- The Sons of Pertinax and their history were created by Chris Birks, when he served in Games Workshop's official Outriders volunteer program. It was featured as an example Chapter for the UK White Dwarf's Chapter Master Competition and was featured in White Dwarf 297 (UK).[1]
- Commodus is likely named for the Roman Emperor Commodus, who was assassinated in 192 AD and was succeeded by Emperor Pertinax.
