A Darkstar Warhead is a specialized missile weapon employed by the Tau Empire. The Darkstar emits neutron pulses which destroys all biological matter within the target area. However these neutron pulses do no damage to non-biological material, allowing for valuable minerals or technology to be collected. This allows the Tau to engage and destroy the enemy without risking harm to any nearby valuable resources.[1]
While an excellent weapon against a biological foe, the Darkstar has no effect on mechanical enemies, such as the Necrons.[1]
