In the last years of the Heresy, Warhammer Horus ordered the Night Lords to invade the world Malec'Nar. It was home to large deposits of Blackstone, which the Warmaster wanted the Legion's Sorcerers to corrupt with the Warp. After Malec'Nar fell, Vathras Kell was charged with conducting a ritual that would call the the Warp to the world. It would then in turn, be amplified in power by the Blackstone. Kell would be aided in this task, by Dimav and his fellow Sorcerers Cyfan and an unnamed Night Lord. They later succeeded in their task and Malec'Nar began to give off a singular song of agony, as the great Ruinstorm raged. Afterwards, they then began using the Warp energy to begin possessing the world's surviving population. Malec'Nar's fall became known to the Imperium and, sometime before the Siege of Terra began, the Knight-Errants Fel Zharost and Macer Varren were sent to kill them. Zharost was a former Terran Night Lord, who had been cast out after fighting to prevent the Nostramos from corrupting his Legion. For him, this confrontation was a chance to end the Sorcerers' threat and also gain closure on his painful past with the Night Lords. Once they arrived, Zharost led the attack and they successfully killed the Sorcerers. Dimav was the second to fall, after he was impaled through the throat by Varren's power sword. After Vathras Kell's death, the Warp fled from Malec'Nar's Blackstone and the world was silenced.[1]
