Dogent Krank was an Imperial Army trooper, who was described as having an old soul[1b], and he served in Calth's Numinus 61st Regiment during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.[1a]

History

His Regiment was part of the Ghaslakh Crusade that was preparing to launch from Calth, when the Word Bearers attacked the world, during the Horus Heresy. As the invasion raged, Krank soon joined a small group of Imperials who escaped with the Perpetual Ollanius Persson, into a Warp Rift he created. This began a journey through time and space, as Persson tried to reach Terra before the traitorous Warmaster Horus could kill the Emperor.[1b]

When Ollanius' group arrived on Terra, they found themselves within the clutches of the Emperor's Children and their dream-garden known as Paradise. Within the horrific realm Krank was badly wounded in an encounter with Chaos Space Marines and had to be carried by Graft.[1c] Krank accompanied the group into the Imperial Dungeon, eventually reaching the Golden Throne alongside the other "Argonauts", but discovering that the Emperor had gone to fight Horus aboard the Vengeful Spirit.[2]

As the group continued on their quest, they were confronted by Erebus on the walls of the Imperial Palace. During the subsequent fight most of the group were slain. Krank was slain when the Dark Apostle issued a word of Enuncia which blew his head apart.[3]
