The Eladagh System[1]

The Eladagh System is a System of the Charadon Sector in Ultima Segmentum.[1]

History

One of the more civilized parts of the Licrac Sub-Sector, it is ruled by the cold and austere Cardinal World of Vikatrina, sister world to the Cardinal World of Alexistor. Like the other Systems in the Sub-Sector, its population lived with a superstitious fear, though not to the same degree. The settlements of the System were known to be insular and untrusting, but was nonetheless a vital trade route to the Thorlaf's Strait. The shipping came through the Merchant World of Pelinne and was guarded by the Fortress World of Ysarina.[1]

As the Charadon Campaign dragged on, many resources and supplies drew scarce and competition between the many merchant and trade guilds and houses in the System grew fierce. Profiterring, extortion, and espionage grew considerably, and into this powder keg the Alpha Legion stirred up Cultist activities. Full-scale wars broke up and thousands were killed in battles. Meanwhile on the nightmarish world of Dentherya, home to deserts of deadly "living" cacti and giant arachnids, a refugee crisis erupted and the Neverdead reached the surface alongside Word Bearers forces. The Chaos Space Marines were able to underatke rituals to bring Daemons into reality while launching hit-and-run attacks against Imperial Guard positions. However the Heretic Astartes underestimated the deadly environment of the world, and the defenders knew the ground better. This allowed the Imperials to endure to a degree.[1]
