Emhon Lux was a Champion of the Blood Angels Legion, who took part in the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.[1]

History

His exploits during the Great Crusade won him not only the honor and respect of the Blood Angels, but the other Space Marine Legions as well. All acknowledged Lux's prowess as a warrior-Champion and his name was writ in glory. He later took part in the Horus Heresy and was among the Blood Angels who fought in the Siege of Terra. It was as Lux was defending the Imperial Palace's Gorgon Bar besides his Legion, that the Champion's life was nearly ended by the Iron Warriors Warsmiths. Their siegecraft attacks against the Gorgon Bar resulted in Lux's legs and pelvis being crushed. While he survives, there was no chance for him to return to the fighting, as Lux would need to be outfitted with Augmetics, that would require months of surgeries and healing. Worse still, Warmaster Horus' hordes later overcame the Imperium's defense of the Gorgon Bar, as they advanced further into the Palace.[1]

Lux was then taken into the Inner Palace, where he was confined to a bed, but his injuries left him wracked by never-ending pain. The Champion was not content to stay like this though and screamed until his shattered body was bound to a Mechanicus Suspensor Throne, as he demanded. Lux was then given lascannon to wield and had an Impulse Unit spliced into the base of his skull. With this device, a phalanx of combat servitors would follow in the Champion's wake and wherever Lux aimed, the servitors would aim there was well. The Champion's pain was still present, however, and to keep it at a manageable level, his Throne's base-plate was lashed with palliative auto-units that dripped pure opioids into his body. This left Lux in an incandescent, hallucinogenic and fever-haze, though, and made it hard for him to tell what was real and what was created by his mind. In order to rectify this, the Champion wore a visor and relied on its target reticle to guide his aim at any foes he faced. When Horus' hordes finally breached the the Inner Palace, Lux took part in defending it, alongside his combat servitors. However he later found himself among the Imperial forces that were outside of the Eternity Gate, when it was closed near the end of the Siege.[1]

Now left without a chance to retreat or receive reinforcements, these Imperials faced an unending tide of Traitors. Lux now knew he would not have to deal with his pain for much longer, but his approaching death, did not cause him to stop fighting to defend the Inner Palace. The Champion was later in the Manumission Arch, when his visor's reticle picked up targets in the Via Hyrax ahead of him. They revealed themselves to be a group of Traitor Auxilia and the Iron Warriors Stor-Bezashk who command them. Lux and his Combat Servitors soon began firing upon the Traitor Legion, as the Champion was eager to give back some of the never-ending pain, they had inflicted upon him.[1]

Emhon succumbed to his wounds and his remains were later found beneath the shattered arch of Teclis Gate on Terra.[2]
